I killed Forgotten Experiments on my druid tonight and according to the loot window had top roll on the hands token (Mystic Quickened Bronzestone, which is hunter/mage/druid). One person was refusing to roll on anything, but they were a demon hunter – not eligible to roll need on the token.
After a minute or so, my next queue came up and instead of missing it because this person was just refusing to roll, I took the queue, figuring the token would be mailed to me. It was never sent to my mail.
Was I wrong to think the item would be mailed to me after I left? Is that not a thing?

(Though it’s a different topic, I have to comment this was especially irritating after an entire night of watching people, with better gear than what was dropping, able to need roll on everything and inevitably win it over others for whom it was an upgrade. Not sure how this is still a thing after people were supposed to not be able to roll on things which weren’t upgrades… LFR really needs to go back to personal loot. There is zero sense in having loot be free rolled in a group of total strangers, who not organized in any way.)
As long as you rolled you’re eligible.
Doesn’t mean you will get the loot, as someone may roll higher than you and you didn’t see it.
If you did win, then yes, it will be mailed to you.
Also, some FYI regarding the loot system…
The only difference between Personal Loot and what we have now is we get to choose if we roll or not, and of course, the fact everyone can see what you got without any control over it.
PL, everyone had to roll need always. But you could choose not to pick up your drop in order to not broadcast it to the raid. Which would then be mailed to you instead.
All rolls were in except a demon hunter who was not capable of rolling need. There were no rolls to not see.
It might be splitting hairs, but no matter if they pick it up the item or not, for it to be seen or not, it’s still always felt less-bad for the computer to pick someone and say “here” over watching people actively choosing to roll need on things they absolutely do not need. Just opinion.
Since I’ve never seen anyone not roll need when they can equip the item, saying everyone had to roll need always with personal loot is only saying that the two looting systems are exactly the same. In which case, you should go with the one which feels better. And which, incidentally, finishes immediately and can’t be held up by people refusing to roll. Again… opinion only.
This should come to you, there can be a delay sometimes. But if you didn’t get it and you’re sure you won, sounds like a bug. I never stay in a LFR after I roll, I can only think of one time I didn’t get something I was expecting, but someone could have rolled higher in my situation.
I’m also not disagreeing with you, I actually preferred PL too, but simply because I got sick of people asking me for my drops, so I stopped picking them up if I wanted to keep them. Can’t do that now.
Imo, both systems are flawed, but I don’t have a solution. If PL didn’t want to give us an abundance of capes/accessories, it could have been much better… But that’s all I got.
