Without. I don’t want or need the potential hassle.
With, at least up to 110. Only encountered a ganker once in that level range, which I dealt with by bubblehearthing (lol).
I think I’ll turn it off after 110 though, too many hungry hungry hordies running around BfA zones for comfort.
I level without it.
I’m in no hurry to level alts . I do that to relax and enjoy the various scenery of the older zones.

I love pvp
ox·y·mo·ron
a figure of speech in which apparently contradictory terms appear in conjunction (e.g. faith unfaithful kept him falsely true ).
I freaking love world PvP. That said, you don’t often get organic peer encounters whilst leveling.
Being ganked doesn’t bother me, and if someone decides to camp me hardcore, I can choose to move to another zone or log over to the main or have someone from my guild come deal with it. Most of the people who gank lower-level toons SUCK at PvP and go down with a swiftness once someone their own size shows up.
I’ve leveled several toons to 120, now, from both factions and on several different server groups. It’s not an issue. Sure, there are problem spots where you’re more likely to have some trouble with 120’s killing level 35 players for funsies, but the overall leveling experience is fine in WM. It goes much faster, and I am always in WM on all of my toons unless a guildie asks me to turn it off so we can see each other for grouped content.
I prefer to think of it as a preemptive strike, based on my assumption that if they had seen me first they would have done the same thing
I level with it on. Reminds of when I used to play on PvP servers before all my friends went PvE.
I like having the element of danger when leveling. Most quest mobs or things in the world really don’t have a risk of being killed by when you’ve got heirlooms and enchants.
I just hate when they kill quest givers.
only with my rogue that I can stealth with, cuz I am a big
Same…my first WoW server was Magtheridon, which was a pvp server. I made my first toon on that server because that’s the server my RL friends played on, and this was before CRZ and the dungeon finder. I hated getting ganked all the time and when I was leveling up in places like STV and Ashenvale and Arathi I’d get attacked quite often…usually it was ?? level players but there was one occasion when I got attacked by a warrior who was a few levels above me. I went to start fighting him and was winning…then here comes a max level rogue out of stealth to come and cheapshot me and he helped his friend kill me…THAT’s why I don’t use War Mode
On, no exceptions. I will never turn warmode off unless my group is on the verge of kicking me for insisting I turn it off to summon, and even then I’d rather accept the kick most of the time.
20% is also 20%, and if a high level ganks me, I’ll just bring out my main, I don’t care it doesn’t make me frustrated, I’m happy to know that someone wants to fight. If they run away by the time I come back, then I’ll do it back and go to enemy town, kill the lowbies and all the quest givers at least once.
On until I get completely camped, which rarely happens anyway.
WM in alliance only zones(or dead zones), non WM into BFA.
Without, never really enjoyed PVP and this way I can peacefully go about with what I level.
I’ve come across a bunch of quests while leveling in which you have to pick up items which despawn for everyone else once one player picks them up.
These are not even shared between group members and take ages to respawn.
For this type of quest, the fewer other players around the faster you can complete them. And besides, I like having the world to myself sometimes.
I find the XP bonus is worth getting ganked. I have loads of toons at all levels, so if the opposite faction is making life too difficult for my current leveler I just switch to a different toon.
Agree. I have it turned off. Just not into the PvP scene.
Its on 100% of the time
Neither one of us is quoting exact numbers, but anyone that has leveled at chr AT ANY POINT IN THE HISTORY OF WoW knows that the quests I’m talking about FAR, FAR, FAR outnumber the quests you are talking about.
The FedEx style of “collect 6 of this and 8 of that” has become a meme unto WoW, that style of quest is so pervasive. And the sheer quantity of those quests is what will drive you to the next level.
If you enjoy playing with WM On, then by all means. My intent was never to say the PLAYSTYLE was good or bad. I’m just saying that if leveling QUICKLY is your goal, having WM off is incredibly better.
My different experience could be due to me mostly playing on low-pop realms, and finding few others around when I’m questing, both with WM on and with it off.
Leveling horde allied races on Nagrand with a friend, WM off because he hates PvP, it took forever to level - and he was no carry, he always beats my DPS - the leveling was far slower than leveling my other toons in WM.
I have nearly 100 toons of various levels, so I like to level whatever character I’m on pretty fast.
I’ve been leveling my dark Iron Pally with warmode on.
Surprisingly little interference from Horde 120s.
