Since I’m old, and old fashioned, no.
I actually like to level slow, I like doing all the quests and have been known to turn off xp in order to finish a zone properly.

I’ve had warmode turned on for every character ever since it went live. But I’ve leveled on PVP servers since vanilla and never really minded ganking or being camped.
Off. I just want to do as I want to do. I don’t want other players interfering with that. I don’t care about the bonus either.
WM on. Been on a pvp server since 2005. No reason to change now.
I’ve never been ganked while leveling and I’ve earned 2 heritage sets so far. Don’t level in Outland or STV. First time I ran into another player was in Hyjal at lvl 80. WM on never scared.
I have constant warmode on. I’ve been ganked once across 5 characters while leveling. Losing out on 20% is too much of a loss.
I level with it on. If there’s local chatter about gankers I’ll keep chugging on with WM on until I get ganked. Then I’ll just rez and hearth to the inn and turn it off until I log out. Next time I play that character I’ll turn WM back on.
I haven’t leveled with WM on but that’s mainly because I’m leveling my profession as I level up via dungeons.
Ain’t got time to get camped because I wanted to pick Kingsblood
Still hung up on this, I see.
But anyway, I don’t see the point of WM from 1 to 110. Leveling it’s really fast (well, by today’s standards) with or without WM. At 110 though, I turn it on.
EDIT: TFW your 600th post is in this topic… now I’m sad.
Go take a swig of Blighted Ale, it’ll help you feel better. ![]()
No I don’t think that would do it… well, maybe a lot of it, topped with some of that frog venom drink which I can’t remember what’s it called.
No that’s right.
Maybe you can mix them together in the stomach of a Pandaren?
I’ve leveled 8-9 Horde characters from 110-120, then an Alliance DK from 100-120, all in WM on.
Specifically for the Alliance DK, I never once got ganked until I hit 120 and was on my first world quest. I got rolled by an over-geared spriest.
I realize my experience may have differed from everyone elses, but I came up on pvp servers and really don’t see much of a difference in how it’s always been leveling. Same as it’s always been, except now people have the option to do it or not.
The Warmode bonus is a sham.
The real chunk of your xp comes from where it has always come- completing quests. And the fact is, MOST people don’t have WM On. It’s incredibly lopsided for the people that have it off. I don’t have legit stats, but it feels like 10:1, if not more.
edit to add: You can test this yourself. Just go to your Capital city with WM On and see the 10-15 people there. Now turn WM Off, and it will phase you to that version of the city. Look around at the 50-80 people just in your shard. Now realize there might be 1 shard of WM On, but there are likely 8-10 shards of WM Off.
That means when you’re out completing those “kill 8 rabbits” and whatever else FedEx quests, you get them done 200-1000% faster when other people are around and you can share kills. Remember, this is the new WoW and it’s the rare exception now where a target-tap is yours exclusively. Pretty much EVERYTHING is a shared kill now.
So while you’re thumping your chest about a bonus 20%, people with WM Off are clearing things at least 200% faster because of a larger pool of players that they’re sharing kills with-- it’s often faster than that! There’s just no comparison.
By all means, turn WM on at max level for the paltry bonus to a few things. Again, MOST things aren’t even affected by it. When a WQ rewards gear, it’s not like you get better gear. You don’t get more Pet Charms. You don’t get more Rep tokens. All the things that MATTER, Warmode doesn’t affect.
I guess how much you enjoy the dumpster fire that is wPvP is open to discussion. But for leveling, Warmode is a huge loser.
I level with it on because there really isn’t a lot of ganking going on.
I’ve done it twice now. I’ve gotten ganked a couple times.
I’ve been on a pvp server since 2005. Why wouldn’t I lvl with it on? I keep it on once I hit Max also. On all of my toons, it is never not on.
Because it’s slower.
You might ENJOY the “rush” of having it on. Knowing that you could be attacked at any time or w/e. Hey that’s your thing, that’s why it’s there. Have at it.
But MOST people just want to get to max. And the fastest way to do that is with WM Off.
I level with WM on. I enjoy the constant threat and the extra XP.
Alliance alts have it on, Horde alts have it on sometimes depending on the situation.
