Do you guys use alts or mains for forum posting?

This forum is interesting because you have players on a wide end of the spectrum when it comes to how much they have invested on the toons they post on. I really don’t look at people’s armories for the most part because I value more objectively what they write. It isn’t any different than participating in a discussion on class discord or reddit. You don’t know their “mains” on there unless they disclose it so it me my mindset is the same on here.

Main it is for me but with what I explained above it doesn’t matter to me if someone is on an alt. However when it comes to interacting with people hiding behind low level alts created just to troll and flame I don’t bother. You aren’t worth my time and you spending the effort to attack me or anyone else just shows how insecure you are and reflects you as a person with what you like to do with your spare time.

I post on the character I wish was my main. :frowning:

grumbles about being stuck as Horde

could not have said it better. I'm a WoW tourist at best. I used to spend 16 to 20 hours playing games back in 2004. Alas, it wasn't WoW. I have nothing to show for the absurd amount of no lifing I had in RS6, BF1942, and Morrowind.

perhaps, that is why I'm here. To build a reputation...or at least think I have one. To share in mutual experiences. No one but me remembers my exploits in single player games.

but more importantly, i miss the days of just no lifing any game. Throw a pizza in the oven, watch the simpsons, game til 6 in the morning with some people from new Zealand... good memories

Thanks for this thread, personally I loved the question as I love hearing about what people think, and how they play the game. As for caring? hmmmm . . . might there be a continuum ranging from “whatever” to “curious” to “caring” to “being mortally wounded in the place I sit down on”? Why would anyone care about how somehow else cares about something (caring as opposed to acting)? scratches my head in curiosity :face_with_monocle:

I may have to start posting on an alt. I seem to be getting bullied by a handful of players on these forums.

Those haters are just mad because they wear boots that prevent toe wiggling.

As for myself, I generally only post on various alts, which one depending on the nature of the topic or the post to which I am replying. My main is on a different server from most characters I post on and mess around with and is only level 51 because of a couple people I don’t really want to interact with (they used to work night shifts but no longer do). So, I don’t have much of a reason to post on that character though I know I’ve posted some bug report posts on the character.

Also, on occasion, I’ll reply to myself on another of my characters to make a joke at my own expense.

I suppose all my alts are my mains, for posting purposes. All are in the same guild, and I am sure their are ways for the eagle eyed to work out who is posting.

THis is the toon I started posting on when it was my current main at the time .

If anyone thinks my opinion doesn’t count because I have an opinion on something I have experience on even if it is on a different toon I will post a link to that toon . Other then that I will always post on this one .

Not going to lie, I am a pretty thick skinned person. However, I do not care for forums abuse.

I guess some people are just jealous of others having fun.

I have 6 toons this season that are all roughly the same progression in either arena or M+. So I’ll typically just post on whatever toon I’m specifically representing at the time, i.e. asking a Shaman-specific question, and then just stay posting on that toon until I have a reason to switch to a different one.

If I had a designated main I would probably post on it, though. I’ve always found hiding who I am in-game to be kind of cowardly. If someone wants to belittle me for only being a Duelist or low KSM player they’re free to look petty, it’s not going to affect me.

I mostly post on one character. Only swap if there’s a specific reason to do so.

I only post on alts when I am rping with people in the lounges, or if I have something to share on them.

I personally wouldn’t continue responding with people if they said stuff like that. I have had people tell me I shouldn’t post here because I am a classic toon and I just move on. I don’t switch to my retail main as this is who I want to post on and what they say shouldn’t have any bearing on that. It isn’t worth the stress dealing with that stuff.

Well, this is my newest alt. I used to use my main, bit she’s maxed out and I’m utterly bored with Shadowlands. I made this one and immediately started having issues, so…here she is.

[CORRECTION] SURPRISE. THIS IS MY MAIN. It appears my issues extend to the forums. :stuck_out_tongue:

Its the message that counts, not who’s posting the message that matters. Which is why I thoroughly enjoy reminding everyone in General Discussion that Titanforged Loot did nothing wrong and if you hate Titanforged Loot you hate fun.

Not sure If I can call this a main , back in legion I spent an even amount of time for all my chars due to mage tower. This expansion its divided among three toons.

If most progress then yes, if time spent then I guess not

I use the character I main, in case anyone has questions for me, they can reach out pretty easily.

I use this one. The only character I play.

This is an alt, most of my mains are horde side. That will change however if Blizzard finally gives Worgen optional tails as a customization.
