I’ve just gotten a 6 months ban today. It says real money transaction but I never bought anything for real money in the game. I have bought boosts in Shadowlands for gold but in Dragonflight I haven’t.
Does anyone have any experience in reducing ban lengths like these? All I do is join groups via LFG to do raids and mythic+ and I recently got Ahead of the Curve in Vault with a pug.
This was my first ban btw. Can this be an error? Is it worth even trying to contact a GM over this? I already submitted a ticket asking for help but it says average waiting time 8 days so I’m gonna be short of various days from my paid sub for no reason. I don’t get it. I’m having fun this xpac and this happens. I’m literally the guy that ALWAYS reports the ‘WTS’ adverts in LFG and I get the ban??? Any suggestions? Does Blizzard refund paid sub days when you get banned?
EDIT: Another friend of mine just reported the same. 6 months ban for real money transaction and we both didn’t buy anything. Wth is going on? Anyone else?

Wait for them to reply to your GM ticket, not much else you can do other than that
If this is true, you might get lucky
Emphasis on might lol
I’d assume their “one time sub refund” soft-policy doesn’t apply to banned/suspended accounts, but you’ve got nothing to lose from trying anyways

EDIT #2
R.I.P OP
If you didn’t do it, petition. If you did it, no you won’t be compensated. If you chargeback, you will likely have other issues in the future. Not sure if they block IPs?
They’re not going to refund you for time you were banned lol

Discussing Disciplinary Actions
This category includes:
- Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a player, including chat logs and email correspondence between a player and a Game Master (GM)
- Creating posts or threads to discuss disciplinary actions taken against a character or account on the forums
If a player is found to have participated in such actions, they will:
- Be given a temporary ban from the forums, depending upon severity
Are you looking for a forum ban too?

There’s probably more to this than you’re telling us, which is a possible reason why you posted in GD instead of CS where you’d get more helpful info.

You can try moving your thread to Customer Support. You might get a real answer but no guarantee.
Just edit this post and use the drop down menu to move it.

you won’t get a refund 100%. But you can appeal the ban. You’re going to need some good evidence and explanation however. So good luck

I wish blues here would do what jmods do for osrs and come in with smackdowns.
I don’t think this falls under this rule. They aren’t trying to appeal the ban on the forums or make a case. Just wondering if they can get a refund which is valid imo.

It specifies “discussing disciplinary actions”, doesn’t have to be trying to appealing it. This should have went to CS sub-forum or asked in the ticket.
So, you break the rules then expect to be compensated?
@everyone I’ve read threads like these for years on these forums, people crying and pretending to be innocent. I’m not here making a forum post to get some validation from people as if that will get me unbanned. I know I didn’t buy anything so that’s why I’m posting, and I’m sure I’ll get unbanned, so I’m asking about the refund cause I know I’m innocent lol
I would guess it more means that people come in and post trying to argue innocence or w/e with posting chat logs or some other evidence
Thanks lol, I don’t want a forum ban. I was asking a question. I’ll wait for a ticket. Thanks everyone
Def. needs to be in customer service, so I can see the CSM’s work…
You’re not going to get a real/accurate answer from the GD. Move your thread to Customer Support where you may get an answer from an actual Blizzard employee and not an armchair employee.

Your only option is to appeal.
Nope; more serious offensives have a longer suspension period regardless if it was the account’s first offense or not.
There could be an issue with automatic bans. Again, I suggest you appeal it. Unfortunately Blizzard declines to have enough Customer Service representatives necessary for a massively multiplayer online game, so I suspect all account actions are automatic which then requires the holder to file an appeal for manual review. The same is true for the forums.
