Do you believe in the soul?

I agree, nerf demon hunters.

Thereā€™s the same amount of evidence for the existence of that God as there is for the existence of all the other hundreds of Gods throughout human history. None.

And yet there have been wars fought and atrocities committed because people of different faiths have got into a fight over how different people choose to worship that god.

I think we are experiencing that downhill slide of this discussion at the moment.

Look toward the kingdom instead of the troubles of the world imo. The world is decaying and will be gone

No offense, I donā€™t care whatā€™s ā€œwrittenā€ in the Bible, because to me, itā€™s as fictional as the Lord of the Rings.

I know someone who said the same exact thing when he was anesthetized for his prostate exam. It was like he blinked and the surgery was over. Whatā€™s very interesting is that humans are in the business of pausing consciousness. Just think they could have stabbed you 600 times on the table and your body would have bled out and became unsuitable for the reinsertion of your soul. But who knows what would have happened then! Yes thereā€™s the idea that it ends and then just nothing for eternity, I donā€™t like that one too much.

However I do believe it would be cool if we could anesthetize passengers during long flights so they could wake up and be where they wanted to be.

Iā€™ve taken flights all my life, nothing but sky no being on a golden throne as they would like us to beleive

perhaps not, but is it really the fault of the book?
even if you were to write the greatest book of all time, filled with the greatest ideas, there are 2 things to keep in mind.
first, the moment it is followed to the letter, progress stops. it means abdicating the responsibility of improving anything, of progress.
secondly, it can be corrupted, or used in a corruptive way. good ideas can and were used for bad reasons.

also worth keeping in mind that the misery and war which happened are easier to see than the misery and war which have been prevented. who knows what would have been without it?
perhaps it would have been worse. perhaps better. no one can reasonably say one way or another with any kind of certainty, it is impossible to see for certain on such a grand scale. and it doesnā€™t even matter.

the future is where itā€™s at

Just an aluminum one.

This may have happened to me, but probably not, so.

I would suggest to read it. Its fascinating. It has captured the minds of all kinds of people, simple-intellectual. It was written by many walks off life from peasants to kings, fishermen, prisoners, to tax collectors
