Do you believe in the soul?

Or are we just condensed cosmic dust?

I do indeed believe we have souls.

As a finite being, I’m incapable of comprehending my own non-existence.

Do you ever wonder why we’re here?

But in all seriousness, that’s a complicated question. I think we do, but like a lot of things, just about everything is rarely as it seems. We might see or perceive some of the picture, but not the full picture. I do, however, believe that there are things we simply can’t comprehend no matter how hard we try.

I don’t really know.
I mean… what really is a soul, and how can anyone know for sure if they have one? Is there some sort of test that can indicate its presence? Can someone be born without one? Can you have more than one? What happens if you have one and then lose it? What what what…??? And what?

I’m mid twenties but I did go through a few months this year contemplating life. It’s purpose, my role in it, what comes after, why, when, where, how, etc.

I came to the conclusion that no one really knows. I’m more inclined to science and reality rather than blind faith, but even then, we don’t know.

No one has died and come back to tell us, so we wont know until we die. So there’s no point in spending my entire life debating it.

If I die and there’s nothing, then that’s that. I don’t remember life before I existed, I wouldn’t notice it after.

Yes

the bible talks a lot about the soul / spirit

it is who you really are–your body is just a container

one to which you are temporarily locked

it’s like water. can be poured into a cup, mug, pot, a swimming pool, etc.

The body will pass away because it is physical and material

But all those who believe and trust in Jesus as their savior will live forever in a ‘body’ that is not of this current material world

Religion is for powerful people to control the masses. When you go out it’s like hitting the light switch. Poof. Gone.

The soul is the silent witness learning from our third dimensional trials within this simulation. When we die, we wake up, and choose what else we want to learn during any time or in any place.

I believe we are not real, we only perceive ourselves as real. In reality we are but a single thought put out by the first being in the universe. Nothing more then a cosmic dream. Everything we know is simply a figment of that dream.

I tbh don’t really know or care. As a pagan, we don’t really hold that much into souls. It’s not a priority

There’s significantly more evidence that we are indeed cosmic dust in a neat little arrangement than there is for the existence of souls, at least in the way that souls are commonplace discussed.

As of now, I am unconvinced that there is some immaterial component of us that survives beyond death and exists pre-life – mainly because trauma to the brain has been shown to completely change who a person is, who they remember, what their interests are, etc. All of the facets we generally associate with personhood.

what is cosmic dust and where does it come from? whatever the answer, where does that come from? where does consciousness come from? Science does not have a definitive answer, only theories.

I sold my soul to a ginger for a pie. The sneaky piker gave me a rhubarb pie.
