Do you believe in the soul?

Excellent movie right there.

Yet the writings come from an organization of men. So, yeahā€¦

Hmm, I see your point. Iā€™ve never thought of it from that perspective. Iā€™ll have to give it more thought before I can answer.

Although, I do intuitively feel the soul exists and there some permanence to it even after life.

They could have come from wimmen if Peter and Paul didnā€™t hate Mary Magdalene so much.

Edit: but also, bedtimes. Good luck & good conversations moving forward.

Thereā€™s this quote and idr who said it or exactly how it went, but it was along the lines of ā€œI donā€™t fear death, I was dead long before I was alive so thatā€™s natural for me.ā€

Personally the fact that we exist at all is super cool to me, Iā€™m okay if this is all I get. As hippy as it sounds weā€™re justā€¦ an extension of the universe in a way (assuming science is right).

That said Iā€™m 90% sure Queen Elizabeth was reincarnated as Trisha Paytasā€™ daughter so. Take my opinion with a grain of salt.

So a cycle then?

I think it was more of a ā€œReturn to form.ā€

Like if death is merely the absence of consciousness, then thatā€™s what we were long before what we are now, and thatā€™s what weā€™ll go back to.

Personally, idk what there is or isnā€™t. I care a little, but thereā€™s nothing I can do about that. I donā€™t think anyone really has it right- Science is probably the most accurate based on our current understanding of things- but who knows?

ā€œDeath is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it. White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.ā€

J.R.R. Tolkien

If only it were so.

This is what I believe happened after death

I do think there is a difference between going from nothing into something then going from something into nothing.

There is a difference between getting food when you are hungry versus never getting food again after you ate. Sure you started out hungry and youā€™re returning to it but itā€™s not a desirable state.

To me, I believe we have souls and the body is just a vessel to hold it. Some people lose theirs along the way and the husk remains behind.

I think both in a way. Great friken question.

That quote always gives me chills when I read it. Massive chills if Iā€™m watching the movie and hearing Gandalf say it. Itā€™s a comforting idea, as well.

Can confirm

So many parts in that trilogy gives me chills. Theodenā€™s charge on the fields of Pelennor is one of them.

It was cinema perfected. Very, very few have come anywhere close to that level before or after.

Agreed. I donā€™t even look at it as cinema, but story telling that just happened to be confined to screen.

Honestly, itā€™s just pure art, both visually and audibly. That had some of, if not THE best music in anything ever.
