This is my experience with vanilla classic. Mid tier sweatlord guild, my whole guild bought gold, everyone joked about it and exchanged the best sites to use, I found this pretty lame.
It was expected that you show up with all consumes, resist pots, super sappers, food, and Diremaul/songflower buffs that you paid for. For the casters, dark runes were needed, and caster flasks were used as mana pots (Not sure the specifics of that but it was expensive.)
Warrs who were the “wrong race” needed edgemasters which cost a few hundred dollars. Everyone also needed BIS enchants, bis crafted gear, and engineering maxed, all of which cost mega-inflated prices from all the others buying gold from the unpoliced million rogue pickpocket bots/flyhacking ZG mages.
I have seen private servers with better bot policing than classic. Unemployed european dudes volunteer to police those pserver bots FOR FREE! How can a multi million dollar company not manage that? You have to infer that blizz don’t want to hurt their subscription profits from all the bot accounts.
Finding all this pretty lame I am checking back in for Wrath classic. Curious if Blizz still offer merely the “slap on the wrist” for buying gold? Are real bans handed out? Do “top parsers” still pay hundreds $ per month just for an orange number on a website?
It takes but a moment of logging in to any mega server and seeing 15 glaives in a major city to see the state of the game right now concerning gold buying
Nothing has changed. As someone coming from the silent majority that never has swiped because I associate it as cheating in my mind: I feel like such a fool for not going into wrath with at least a couple hundred thousand gold.
It’s lot like they would do anything but suspend me for 1-3 days and give me an automated message saying some PR BS.
If you want to come back to no RMT, no bots, no gold sellers etc you won’t find it here.
Now with that being said the consumes requirement isn’t like it was in (Vanilla) Classic. There’s way less stuff to use. I farmed all of my own consumes/engi stuff/ etc then and still do. I love to be self-sufficient, but if my raid group ever wanted to use Flasks of Distilled Wisdom as mana pots (back then) well… that wasn’t happening. That’s not a thing anymore though.
Saying that all you really don’t seem to like is RMT which is still a thing, even though with that being said making gold is also way easier than in (Vanilla) Classic. Like the game throws gold at you for playing. So you can just do regular stuff and even get the consumes with that, it’s like 10x easier to get gold without playing the AH than it was when you last said you played.
Every bot buys the $50 level boost, and make up 20% of the player population and its another lvl boost bought when their account goes down in 6 month banwaves
They killed the boos that drops the glaive the same as any other raid who kills that same boss lmfao.
Yo Illidian we doing a gdkp you mind dropping a glaive or 2??
That isn’t how raids work lmfao.
Those glaives dropped, someone in the raid was going to get the glaive because it dropped.
This really isn’t hard to understand, the loot method of why someone got it is irrelevant, someone was walking out with a glaive regardless. They could of played duck duck goose to see who wins the glaive.
Unless that raider was also breaking 2k+ arena ranking in all brackets, they obviously would not have been given the glaive by any guild, and only guilds could possibly clear BT even now! And so, any subpar warrior/rogue would have seen glaives being deleted before being handed to them for being so awful at PvP.
This is saddest thing about WoW, people recommend buying gold and act as if it is normal AND then brag about parses while paying to get advantage over others.
Blizzard did a lot of bad decisions in Classic, but player hipocrisy, using exploits and no shame is far far worse than all Blizzard sins together.
Paladin strath farming said hi. I was there…good times.
This nerf stung. It was how I planned to make gold at 70 lol. Say the same thing in classic I do in retail. Want players in current….have current pay better
I gave my friend 120k gold to get both glaives and that gold simply came from the AH.
So my friend paid to win now? Illidan didnt just give him these items. He had to run it 11 times to see both. On top of that people who want glaives dont have to join a run where both are presold like that. Or sit in a guild being last prio.
People forget the possibility of friends borrowing gold to eachother. That exists you know and if you dont have friends nor gold then thats on you. Less forums more goldfarming / socializing.
There was smart ways of making gold. For example selling 1300 heavy junkboxes for 40000+ gold to insane title farmers and that literally only took 20 hours to do so and had medium demand. Be creative
Ah yes, the casual giving a person 120k gold out of the goodness of your heart… come on don’t be disingenuous. This is such a non response im mad I even replied but someone has to call it out.
