There are so many glaives because of the sheer amount of raids being done. Gdkps have been a great thing for the raiding scene in keeping it alive.

so does giving the gm a good time in bed for some guilds. Pretty sure not all 23 others on the raid can compete with that. or would want to…
I wouldnt consider him as a friend if he would really accept gold from me for some soon to be meaningless loot, I would felt like using my time farming it for few seconds of his loot thrill.

The only reason Blizzard ‘cares’ if you buy gold is because it’s against the ToS. But do they sit there and just 
you don’t? No. They could care so much less if you do. They would rather sell it themselves.
It influences how often they drop…

They specifically let bots run just long enough to make it profitable to “re-buy” access to WoW.
They’ll say they don’t. Because that hurts subscriptions long-term.
Please point me in the direction of a company that cares about long-term profits.

If gdkps werent a thing Black Temple would barely be run.
So gdkps keep raids for BT going weekly so more runs equals more chances for it to drop.
TDLR= gold does in a way influence loot drops

All that RMT/GDKP/P2W garbage is going to be in Wrath, just like it’s in TBC now. They are retail progression servers afterall. Thankfully, many of the actual Classic WoW realms are finally free from that cancerous gameplay and will be what my guildmates and I continue to enjoy.

My LC guild was still running BT until all the casters got their Skull of Gul’dan, and if another glaive dropped they would still be running it to get the second glaive.
I wouldn’t say that BT would barely be run, but it definitely wouldn’t be run as much if GDKPs didn’t exist because I sure as heck would never go back to help some random dude from trade chat get his “LFM BT GLAIVES AND SKULL HR”

Right because no one ran MC back in Classic before GDKP took over.
I’ve witnessed double glaive fury warriors in full SWP Bis get outperformed by arms warriors without glaives…
…and this fact saddens me, because you know that warrior wouldn’t have glaives without RMT.

It was the first raid of launch. U saw so many thunderfurries bc of GDKP’s keeping the raid running threw out classic.
