Do they have Desktop Cases on sale?

Do they hold sales on desktop Cases for black friday/cyber monday? I need to build a new PC and we have no stores in my state that sell just cases so will be buying online likely via newegg. im going to be buying in parts for now. i don’t need the PC that badly but within the next few months i expect this PC to fry.

kinda new to building only built this current one so im likely going to buy another super ATX case. last time i bought a full atx and although it stated my water cooler would fit it didn’t.

can’t reuse this tower either it’s so bad on the inside. tons of dust/neglect but it is a super atx as well. Corsair Obsidian 900D i believe or maybe the 750D one.

Yes computer cases do go on sale! There are a few cases on sale at the local microcenter for me.

I actually tend to buy open box computer cases.

do they sell super atx towers on sale though or is it just smaller ones?

Super Atx is the HUGE ones 1 size bigger then full atx i believe. more money but less hassel for me and hopefully if i keep it clean this time round i can actually reuse it.

Do you mean full towers? They should not be excluded from sale. I guess it depends on how popular the case is and just the store that is selling it.

Why do you need such a large case? Do you just have that many storage drives?

What are your requirements?

#2.5"
#3.5"
Do you need an optical drive?
Do you need more 5.25" slots for things?

just for reassurance after my first build i don’t want to deal with that bs again. lost out on about $300 from the cooler not even fitting despite it said it would. could return the tower either threw away the box and dog pissed all over it XD.

the tower im looking at rn though is going to cost way more then i want to spend and comes from a seller with bad ratings so i might just opt out for a full atx instead. i really don’t play much games that require good graphics. RN i have a lot of drives though because i ended up just buying small ones since this PC was on a budget build at the time.

What specific type of cooler are you trying to accommodate?

Quality modern cases tend to be pretty efficient at cooler installation as well as cable management.

The only time generally you end up having issues is you are using an enormous radiator or a very tall tower cooler.

Do you have a list of requirements so we can come up with some recommendations?

i don’t have anything special picked out but i am using a corsair pre built cooler. just for the CPU but the radiator/pump part didn’t fit in the holes it didn’t line up tried to mount it at the top which might of been the reason why it didn’t line up but i think it is supposed to line up regardless since i believe it has the same holes as fans.

i don’t think you normally hook it up to the top thats why you usually mount it on back i think. like i said though i didn’t know jack about building comps at the time so was a rookie mistake. im just trying to get a tower atm and build around that because the tower is my biggest concern. wont be home all the time and i rather not pick up at shop.

last time i had to schedule manually by calling after shipping to schedule drop off on a specific day and time but they already gave me a hard time doing that.

if i see any on sell i’ll purchase one but if not no big deal i need to learn to build in a full atx eventually. if anything i’ll just drill holes too

If you’re looking at one of the cases on the larger side but still not a monster like the 750D, the Corsair 4000D Airflow looks pretty compelling. It’s also probably guaranteed to fit your Corsair cooler.

It has good clearances, support for radiators up to 360mm and air tower coolers up to 170mm.

It also has great airflow.

Cases will be one of the few PC parts on sale this holiday season but expect older models. Supply is still short on many items and a high demand in over all desktop sales means there is little hold inventory to clear out.

yea i think imma opt for a full tower instead. mid i think will be too small for my liking. but the super ATX which i believe is the 750D one i got is way too big. i mean i could just buy another 750D one it’s still cheaper then the 900D i believe but idk yet.

gotta shop around little bit see what kinda parts i want. mostly trying to splurge on monitor, cpu, and gpu and mobo. all 3 gonna be pricey though but something to last me another 10+ years. this one i got is closing in on 10 years i think. built it end of wod

I’ve had a 750D, and I couldn’t handle it. It was enormous.

It was just so much wasted space - unless you need all those 5.25" drives bays, or that many 3.5" and 2.5" drive slots…it’s a lot of wasted space.

Most people are never going to use a 5.25" drive, and have at most a couple of 2.5" ssds and one or two 3.5" spinners…but with m.2 drives becoming more standard, there’s often very little reason to even have conventionally mounted drives anymore.

If you have a modest motherboard, you can have a fast 1tb m.2 nvme drive, a slower 1tb qlc m.2 drive just on the motherboard, and need no other drive storage on the actual case. Perhaps one 3.5" largemass storage at most.

At that point you have just a lot of space for not much use.

That said, if you need the full tower, they also have a 750d airflow that is more modern.

Fractal design define R7, great case and can fit 14 3.5’s, lol.

yea im wanting to get m2 looks good. this one i got 2 ssd’s and 1 hd none mounted though but yea lots of empty bays even if they were. i dont even remember if i bought this one knowing it was a super atx i just assumed it was full because i think that is what it was listed under.

imma try shop around when it comes closer kinda have an idea of what kinda build i want but its pricey too so i gotta rethink it because i’d be spending more then i need for my uses.

Basically every PC component will get put on sale. Have you used pcpartspicker dot com (sorry I can’t do links). Great way to price out a system. Go to the Browse Products and search for your items. You can also do the system builder option, some nice guides there as well for you and sample builds other people have done.

I agree with the previous person, Fractal Design makes some nice cases. I’m using the Meshify S2 Midtower case right now. It is a large case but I wanted it to fit the Noctua NH-D15 cpu cooler so I needed a wider case.

One more thing to consider, I wouldn’t get to caught up in having to have an internal DVD drive unless you watch a bunch of old movies or something. They are going away and most cases don’t support this. Personally I just bought an external DVD drive for $20 that connects via USB.

Anyway, check out the pcpartpicker site I think it will help you out. Good luck

Lol, even with good supply that doesn’t happen

Everything can be for sale… At a price

Assuming you have the stock and willingness to move it. That’s what a lot of people fail to understand. Can’t sell what you don’t have in stock and if the demand is high enough then there is no point in placing it on sale. I don’t see good power supplies, good motherboards, or any of Intel’s CPUs being on sale. You can probably grab a higher end AMD Zen 2 processor, ram, or SSD on sale though. Video cards? That’s an ultra cluster duck once you get past the rx 5600xt and gtx 1660 super.

I see TONS of RTX 3080s and 3070s

on ebay for $1200+
