dont even think of stepping into my bgs unless ur 90+ HoA, rank 15 cloak, BiS azerite traits and corruptions with an ilvl above 475

BFA set the entry level threshold way too high for even casual PvP.

All of the above make for a horrible experience into PvP until you grind out weeks worth of PvE content.

This is why I didn’t get BFA for a long time. The only reason I finally got it was b/c I needed it to get mounts of the BMAH and to get Brutosaur. I have 40k health unless I go grind some PVE so I’ll just do party synch bgs instead.
Wrong character but that’s what I have on my main.
I liked in the old days that you could do randoms and get decent starter gear without PVE.

This isn’t going to be any better. You’re still going to have people with no gear chilling out in BGs while they grind the currency to get upgrades.
People made this same complaint in every expansion since honour/conquest currency was introduced, it’s just the worst it’s ever been in this expansion. WoD was the second worst it felt like to me. Legion actually wasn’t too bad with the templates.
This is no different than wod. Unless you’re queuing up right from hitting 120. But it doesn’t take long to get a little bit of gear.

I don’t think you two remember WoD. Nor do I think you two play alts in BfA.
I do think one of you likes to argue that having a 445 weapon, WQ rewards and the new cloak is fine to PvP in. Even that takes longer than getting honour gear in WoD which was at most 20 ilvl below the BiS gear in PvP. And all of the WoD gear was obtained doing PvP.

Great! Then how do you reconcile your assertion that BfA is the same as WoD?

Because the gear gap was the same.
I didn’t say it was the same as WoD. I said this is the worst it’s ever been and that WoD was the second worst.
*Edit: I was also talking specifically about the gap in power between a freshly capped toon and someone who had already finished gearing up.
WoD: At most 20 ilvl difference (could be closer because of forging)
In BfA ilvl 425 for equivalent gear compared to 480 + cloak + corruptions + essences + azerite
