Do people with no gear deserve to be shamed?

Honestly, like do one cycle of WQ’s and you have 200k atleast

True for the Bgs I’ve been in. Usually it’s people fighting mid away from nodes or not going after efc or not grabbing orbs.

Being abused by people who have chosen to behave as dirtbags is not a natural consequence.

Well, that’s how people geared up for PvP in previous expansions.

Imagine in a hypothetical future expansion, someone tries to gear up for PvE through dungeons/raids, but then they’re told they should be doing arenas and bgs.

Lol good way of putting it… It just makes no sense. Let people play the content they want to.

Imagine not being a jerk to the other people in your BG by putting in the tiniest amount of effort to quickly gear yourself in PVE. There is no reason to be in a BG under 100k HP. Corruption procs hit for more than that.

I don’t care. I’m not asking a single pvper to go pve. I do it but I don’t care if other people do. I don’t like pve and I don’t want people that don’t like it to waste their time if they don’t like it. I have no problem winning most of my games regardless.

Also this.

It’s a dumb thing. People should be able to log in and play what they want. So instead of blaming the player for getting screwed… Go make a thread in gd where you get mad at the system for screwing them.

So I think a lot of people forget/don’t know that there is scaling in place. Your hp and damage isn’t real, it’s a sliding scale depending on who you are facing. I hate that, but it’s what it is.

So 100k vs 500k is more like 225k vs 375k battle.

But really none of this matters, because it’s a random BG. Put on some tunes, and slay. Rarely is gear holding someone from being semi useful, but it’s not like they joined your mythic 15. It’s a random BG. A quick match. Just play, ignore chat unless 5% chance it’s actually useful, and play it for what it is.

No. People are not responsible for Blizzard’s poor design choices.

Throwing everyone together into the same games with a vast power difference isn’t a player choice.

I see what you are saying, but you know if you are being a troll. I have alts and when I hit 120 I’m considerate and don’t queue. There’s faster, less selfish ways to get gear.

Shaming people has no benefit, unless you just like crapping on others to make yourself look good, I guess. Far better to give helpful suggestions on ways to get gear, or approach it constructively.

To be completely blunt, it’s really their fault. Blizzard has created what is the worst PvP gear gap in WoW history between freshly capped characters and seasoned characters. Apparently, all the negative feedback we gave them over the last 15 years resulted in a “Hold my beer!” moment, because Blizzard has outdone themselves.

For context, I finally got around to getting my Shaman to 120. After doing a few TW and mailing over some of the 8.3 BoA pieces, I’m at maybe ilvl 341 and 130k hp.

I am now able to queue into PvP and go against people with the gear I currently have on my Monk, with ilvl 472 and a little over 500k hp.

I can gear up my Shaman pretty quickly, but there’s nothing saying I have to. Furthermore, I suspect there are a lot of players who just don’t know any better.

Nothing is going to change in 8.3. We can only hope Blizzard will finally start paying attention and understand that this is not good! In the meantime, be a supportive community member. Try to be helpful and tell folks where they can find gear upgrades to help them contribute a bit more effectively in BGs. Just stay positive and constructive.

Some folks won’t want your advice, and yea they are the ones who suck, but many others may well appreciate the tips.

I don’t choose to queue on a fresh 120 either because I know what it would be like, but I still think Blizzard should do something about it rather than just expecting people to voluntarily not queue knowing that they’re in the same bracket with people who sometimes literally have 10x as much hp.

Last week when I logged into a 120 shaman I got to 120 and never did anything on, it had 58k hp before I bought some cheap 400 ilvl crap on the ah and did timewalking for 425s and then did the cape chain. If I had queued it would have put me in a game with people with 400-500k hp, which is nuts.

Tell me what stocks you buy so I can short them.

Joining a random bg without the legendary cloak is effectively trolling, so yes

  • if you join a bg with less than 300k hp ur gonna be killed super fast, and your dmg/healing output will also be gimped. (excluding fire mage)

  • literally takes 1 hour of doing WQ to gear up to like 380k hp.

  • its a team game, of course we want people to pull their own weight in team based game.

  • blizzard is also to blame here.

This was how MoP started. Honor gear was better than heroic dungeon gear. It was nerfed into oblivion within a week or so. D:

I used to really look forward to getting to level cap so I could really start to pvp. I was excited to go play a ton of BG’s/Ashran to get my fresh character all in honor geart and start to earn my epics.

Now, I get a toon to 120 and… nothing.

I might use them to go for transmog runs, but the thought of doing all that PVE is so off-putting, I would rather level a new toon through BG’s.
