Do people still watch TV?

I watch tv, somewhat. I stream stuff. I basically rewatch the same movies and shows repeatedly, something about calming for my anxiety.

I’ve probably watched the entire series of Bob’s Burgers about 10 times.

I don’t think people are feeling superior here. In my case I just don’t have interest in television. It’s not interactive and quite frankly the majority of it is boring.
Kudos to you for having 900 channels of mind numbing entertainment I guess.

Haven’t had a TV in over a decade. My parents have a TV, but they don’t have a TV service. It’s a TV hooked up to a computer that accesses Youtube, Amazon, and other streaming services.

TV killed itself in my eyes with garbage writing/programming and commercials.
I would rather crawl across broken glass naked than sit through modern TV shows with commercials.

A lot of people watch TV. Just less so with cable etc. I think most people these days probably use streaming services (netflix, etc.). I still watch a lot of shows that originally aired on TV (Better Call Saul right now. And Breaking Bad in the past.)

The answer is, yes of course. Streaming has just gotten considerably more popular

Netflix et al. are TV in exactly the same way Pandora, Spotify and their ilk are radio.

So no, neither is killing the other. Both are evolving.

Are you watching those on your TV? Then you still watch TV.

You don’t need a TV to watch TV, any more than you need an actual radio to listen to the radio.

I watch tv everyday. Sports, local and world news. And HBO. And Showtime. And Love it or List it.

i have netflix, hbomax (free through my internet provider), and disney +, anything else i want to watch can be done with youtube, crackle, or any of the other free sites, including the news

i dont bother with sports anymore. especially football.

Right now, we have cable for our local news, NCIS, Closer, Rizzoli and Isles, and occasional broadcast movies. Everythiing we watch aside from the news can be viewd either streaming or on DVD. So I guess we are paying $60 a month for local news pretty much. I am wanting to drop it, but I am not able to convince the hubby yet, so yeah. He thinks maybe he wants to watch the Cowboys, but I think that will change really fast. I’m looking forward to dropping it as it’s not under any contract now.

We have Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, ESPN+, Amazon Prime, so really we’re set for streaming just about anything.

Cable tv is straight up trash. Always the same thing over and over.

You’re expected to stream now

Haven’t had cable in years…or any of those online sub programs.

Modern tv shows are terrible.

I’ll sit down and watch M.A.S.H when it comes on the local channels. Don’t have cable.

Everything else I watch is either streaming or blu-rays.

Get a decent antenna. Gets you all of that for a one time cost. Got my wife to drop cable that way.

I need to find a decent over the air antenna so I can watch live TV again. Cannot bring myself to pay for cable TV.

Grew up on MASH…and Hogan’s Heroes, Bewitched and I Dream of Jeannie plus various BBC comedies.

The stuff that went over my head…

Well then what’s the definition of “watching TV?”

Anyone have some recommendations for an antenna that you might have used and had good experiences with. Hoping for one that either goes near the TV or a window (if that is a thing)

Asking a bunch of gamers is like asking if vegetarians eat meat anymore.
