Lol I love thr rewording of the same thing over n over again. The cloning service is gone, you had 2 years to do it and for any personal reason you didn’t. That simple.
TLDR
People lying that they didnt know about the cloning want to buy a a 60 char fully equiped instead of playing the game they said they like due a sentiment towards a char THEY IGNORED the existence FOR 3 YEARS LOL.
What everybody is basically saying now is that “wow blizzard a tier 2/3 char is all i want I’D PAY FOR IT” in azmous voice LOL.
Your chars exists in the same servers they were created, the progress servers.
This char im posting was created in may btw in the era servers created AFTER the launch of TBC.
Btw breaks of 3 years arent breaks.
I also lost my hunter, but since i enjoy playing the game i just played it.
I dont need a full t2/t3 gold capped char to have fun even in pvp it has been fine. And no, you didt not care about yoru char nor have any sentiment towards it if you legit ignored the char for A WHOLE >1+ YEAR
The stupid argument is that the company spend a lot of extra resources to send a letter to your home and tons fo emails to announce what it already announced in all of its main channels, which guess what, you could - and most likely would - also have discarded anyway cause era servers were dead.
Literally could’ve just checked it ONCE durging 1 YEAR and it was largelly announced duringthe end of classic.
The service stayed up for a whole year.
But people didnt care about “their” chars(legally all of them belong to blizzard) so naturally they were moved as the company said they would.

Yeah they had 600+ days available to them to clone their character. Now they wanna play victim
Not everyone lives in the game. Many people take breaks. Some long ones.
It was indeed very uncool what Blizzard did.
Many people came back just to play Vanilla classic, and had no real interest in BC and beyond. Whether they did or didn’t what Blizz should have done (and still should do), is what’s been suggested again and again and again:
Have Vanilla servers, and the option to transfer to a BC server, and the option from there to transfer to a WotLK server, and so forth. It should always be an opt in scenario when the new ‘expansion’ goes live. Doing otherwise does not serve this community well.

Nah it’s fine.
And taking breaks or whatever circumstance occurs that prevented them from cloning or knowing about cloning ending is on them.
The overwhelming majority of the playerbase moved onto TBC. Vanilla was dead for 2+ years. The fact that people are trying to ride the coattails of this hype train thats been going on for the last 4 months doesnt mean that Blizzard made a poor decision. I cant think of anything Ive cared about that I neglected and ignored for 2-3 years. You can level new characters like everyone else is doing.

afterward i did find them… but some wanted to just clone, others like me never even knew about it and i wanted to know how many others came back completely unaware of this even being a thing.
