Do not take my pet

I’ve barely ever played mage, have a gently used arcane alt, but I feel for you! I remember when they took away your elemental. Same thing for warlocks who lost their observers. I felt bad for you guys, and remember hearing about protestations. Blizz, give mages and warlocks their pets back too, please!

First they came for the warlock pets, but I said nothing, because I was not a warlock.

Then they came for the mage pets, but I said nothing, because I was not a mage.

Now they come for my hunter pet, and there is no one left to speak for me. :sob:

Thing is they keep going at it 1/2 way and not announcing ideas they have had for defensives or whatever. It is like they cut pets out for balance but focus on DPS and utility but lack defensive changes so people complain due to the lack of the defensive cushion the pet provided and they wind up adding the pet back in because they did not include anything, like even an idea called aspect of the bear, which would be a long the line of fortitude of the bear.

Why does everything need to be balanced though, and if it needs to be balanced, I am sure there is a way to balance it around the option of having a pet. Again, if they move things like utility and defensives off the pet and onto the hunter (things like bloodlust and leach), but leave the pet as mostly something to hold aggro of mobs (doing negligible damage), where I can still spam mend pet or fetch as needed, and all other utility is on the hunter instead of the pet, why wouldn’t that be a viable option?

Read the forums on any given day and get back to me.

MM is not petless.

There are no new defensives on the MM side of the tree, the only changes to defensives apply to all hunters, 2 of which also have pets to tank for them.

I’m aware so that should have been where most of the feedback was directed instead of asking to keep the Pet IMO.

…and the new Bird is not a Pet.

People are asking to keep the pet for this and many other reasons, all of which IS valid feedback.

Or… keep the pet, which is functionally another defensive without the hassle of needing to juggle another CD and buff/debuff.

Blizzard says otherwise.

Is there a Pet Bar?

Not required to be a pet, and again, it is Blizzard calling it a pet (albeit admittedly a non-traditional one).

And then like most things like this in WOW Blizzard will plow ahead with their plans and MM will be released in 11.1 with no change to their Defensives to compensate.

Without a Pet Bar it’s just a random ability proc with an attached graphic.

And like the last 2 times, it will be reverted in that case as MM representation falls off a cliff.

Take your complaint up with Blizzard. The Eagle is a pet. MM is not petless, nor will they continue to support a petless MM should this rework go forward.

Semantics. We all know it’s just a proc with a fancy graphic but who cares? MM won’t be using a Pet Bar ever in 11.2 which makes them Petless in terms of ability useage.

It’s not. It is a persistent NPC with coded audio effects, including a death cry. Its behaviour is altered by talent choices and player actions. So while it may appear to be so, the information we have shows to claim it’s “just a proc” is superficial.

Harrier’s Cry, Intimidation, Roar of Sacrifice, Master’s Cry/Endurance Training, Trueshot all are active abilities that you use to command the Eagle. So that is also incorrect.

And if that is the case, the community that cares about our pets will continue to be vocal and push back. Even if Blizz wants to force this through, it doesn’t mean we’re all just going to roll over and accept it.

And again, if that really is the case, then why do they even bother asking for feedback at all if our voices don’t matter? If I have the option to vocalize my objections to taking away my pet, I am going to utilize them at every avenue.

And? Those are all just abilities with extra graphic flair. The Eagle could be replaced with a floating marshmallow and have the same effect on gameplay.

One of the reasons players don’t like Pets is having to manage them which you won’t be doing in 11.1 with Marksmen.

Blizz is just calling the Eagle a Pet to get the complainers off their back but if you want to say it’s a Pet as well then godspeed young padawan.

Of course you should give your feedback but I wish we were seeing some requests Defensive adjustments for Marks as well.

More is coming, according to their intent. Likely for Midnight’s launch if not sooner - we will be beta testing their rework in the mean

For now at least, correct. Though there’s also a good chance that they’ll include pet management down the road. Wouldn’t make their forced pest part of the hunter identity if they didn’t.

More what? Abilities that use the Eagle as a spell effect? How would that change anything?
