Beast Master, option of 1 or 2 pets. If opting for 1, a stat, similar to lone wolf bumps up the single pet damage to exactly what 2 pets does now. Either that or make a second pet purely cosmetic.
Just some thoughts. I never really was in to having 2 pets out, visually
For a very long time a Hunter player, i am ok with MM Hunter losing pets.
MM Hunter should have been sniper long wolf class along time go.
Pets belongs to BM and SV Hunters only.
MM Hunters have a whole toolbox full of defensive moves without the pet, including putting slows on enemies. For the slowfall, you can just use disengage at the right moment, which i been doing since i first started playing WoW in late Vanilla. i assure you, it’s not hard to get the hang of. There are also consumables that let you slowfall, also at least 2 engy tinkers.
As for RP, just swap to BM or Surv while RPing. Same for spinnin nodes in BGs.
They could even give MM Hunters some/all of the pet moves that they gonna lose as part of the default spellbook or as talents.
So what? Why should your opinion about those things be the reason they take something away from what other people really like?
I love going out on adventures with my lion that I picked up in the Blood Elf starting area. We’ve been together since Cataclysm. And yes I know you can play them with Beast Master but I like the MM style of fighting better.
Now I’m still waiting for one reason from anyone why they can’t just give us both modes. In fact you can already play MM Hunter without a pet. How are hunter pets being part of the game harming anyone who doesn’t like playing them.
This is a Blizzard decision not a player decision, adapt or don’t, that’s on each of you claiming this is like the end of the world.
This is part of the problem, they tried this and it doesn’t work so in turn the use of a pet and not using one suffers from trying to balance them and instead they cut out the one to benefit the other.
In Delves or some open world areas, you do not have the space needed to leverage these abilties, assuming the target is not immune (as many bosses or elites are)
Yeah but you just love the idea even though others lose something while you gain nothing but the satisfaction of knowing it made other people miserable.
What do you mean it doesn’t work? That’s nonsense. They already have the mode to play without a MM pet, all they have to do is throw in a few talents to make it work the way they want it to work.
Wow, if are that miserable as a Marksmanship Hunter that you don’t have a pet even though it’s been solo centric since Legion and you are so upset that they are improving gameplay you might have bigger issues because this isn’t that deep, it’s an improvement to the spec and will make it much easier to balance this isn’t a big deal.
It doesn’t work or it wouldn’t be getting changed next month, you and other like you can complain all you want but the change will go through you and you will either adapt and keep playing Marksmanship, spec switch to Beastmastery or Survival, class switch or be overdramatic and decide to quit playing because realistically those are your choices.
There is a active Hunter Feedback thread in the PTR forum…the pet discussion has been taking place there but ideally you should be testing out the changes on the PTR before commenting.
I agree, although not sure a ‘megathread’ is necessary.
We’ve discussed this, but we still need to be sure Blizz knows we are still here and haven’t given up on asking.
I plan on playing the ptr and commenting on my experiences with this on their discussion board.
Being a one trick will only lead to misery. If I need to open world/delve I play BM. In keys/raid if marks is good I default to that. If anything this thread surprised me on the number of people that choose suffering.
Certain people in these threads act like it is all Hunter specs and all Hunter pets like they are losing pets completely, it’s so overdramatic over such a small change and an improvement to gameplay overall so I don’t see the big deal honestly.
