Seriously there’s like 4 posts on the main page about leveling being difficult. Well not to sound like I’m calling all of you bad… but really? This isn’t retail, leveling as a healer will be absolutely miserable. This didn’t change until cata or possibly later. Shadow is great for priests, shaman have 2 options, ret is decent for soloing and feral is an absolute monster in leveling speed. Spec dps, level to 70, then collect healing gear through the plethora of decent quest rewards available. This isn’t retail, if you choose to level as a healer you’re going to be asking for horrendous efficiency, painfully slow questing, and questioning your existence by the end of it.
Lol its not that bad.
I enjoy to lvl up as healer .
It does suck that unless they want to go very slowly they basically need to be a carry through questing. Same with full-tanks.
Smite Priest is quite good to level with. For everyone else, if they’re following the dungeon grind, being a healer is a lot more relaxing than being a tank while still being very high in demand.
Hybrid specs are great for tbc leveling (restokin for exanple)
I been Smithing everything and I don’t have any issue?
the only healer i see having sort of issues when solo is resto druid unless specced hyrid
other than that they do fine
specially priests and paladins
Then explain that to the frest boosties who try to level as a healer. If some of you can make it work, and put it with it great, but there’s plenty of people that seem to be complaining about it.
That’s more to do with bad gear and bad play than anything else, which is… par for the course with boosted characters.
do you have any link to a good tree to use for both lvling tbc dungeons and questing as hpal, i would like to go holy on my paladin, im lvl 57 but i have only 250g, so if i decide to buy a lot of greens to go holy, then i will be really poor and won’t be able to change anytime soon lol
I am leveling as resto all the way and it’s been a breeze. Nature’s Blessing makes all the difference.
Earth Shield is BiS.
are you one of those who think that ppl who boost toons are all clueless morons about said spec?
The big star is Holy Guidance. It gives you a lot of spellpower if you have a lot of Intellect. You can also make use of +sp items more than others can, and you want a lot of spell crit for Illumination mana sustain and more damage yourself. With Concentration Aura on and Spiritual Focus nothing can interrupt you, and you can heal yourself very easily.
Essentially Consecration and Judgment and go from there. Prot and Ret are faster than you, but you can be very powerful in terms of never dying and being a strong healer as well.
Wand spec, bubb, inner fire, spirit tap, mediation, never flay mob twice in a row, swp…there are nuanced rotations to solo all three specs. Holy tougher to multi pull.
Priest leveling is fine. Just add drinks, and potions.
Or, dungeons.
No. But it’s more likely that someone who boosts a character will have less inherent experience and knowledge to do with the level 58 character they’re playing than someone who started from 1. There are a lot of comfort things that slowly picking up spells and using them in a variety of manners can teach a player than going straight to 58.
That, and as I said, the boosted gear sucks.
thats the kind of thing i would like to do, being able to do quests while also doing dungeons for the rep grind and then finishing all the quests for more rep and gold wich is what i badly need for my goat lol
just quests on hellfire you will get a new set of t2 equivalent gear in one hour
You’ll clear much slower, but we’re playing with the buffed healing items giving you 1/3 ratio of spell power on top of the bonus healing/spell power that Holy Guidance gives you. It makes it a lot more bearable to level with.
Essentially Consecration is going to be the bulk of your damage, since you don’t have the AP to really do much else. But you’ll still be able to kill things.
yeah boosted gear is beyond that point, its really bad, but to be honest, if someone boost a toon without spending time watching guides and finding infos about spec and class its their fault for being lazy
