Do later phases enable summoning stones?

Just asking because I’ve googled around unsuccessfully, just curious about this information.

I was under the impression it was BC that brought these about. I could be wrong…

Patch 2.0.1. Was that the pre-BC patch?

You’ll have to wait for BC remastered.

Ah, well that at least told me what to google. Looks like 2.0.1 was a very different game than what we are now playing, it even redid talents and such. So I doubt we’ll see that content in classic.

Because it’s another expansion

Well it’s the TBC pre-expansion patch isn’t it?

What? How? What’d you google?

Google Search: meeting stone patch wow

First Result: https://wow.gamepedia.com/Meeting_Stone

From That Page: Patch 1.3.0 (2005-03-07): Added.

Clicking Patch 1.3.0 link to find its patch notes explains that it was the Dire Maul patch that introduced these stones as functional grouping tools, with the patch notes of:

Meeting Stones are located outside of each dungeon to help players find a group to adventure with in the dungeon. The meeting stone will try to find you a viable five-person group by looking for a tank, a healer, and so on. As time passes and you are unable to find a group, the meeting stone will become less picky about who it groups you with.

I’m more impressed that you couldn’t find this information than anything else.

Since Dire Maul is already released, it’s anyones guess as to when/if they will be introduced. But the correct answer is that they came with Dire Maul patch during Vanilla Era.

Eh I googled around lazily, clearly you had the notion to target what patch it was added in and I didn’t. Who cares man, ease up a little you’re gonna blow an artery.

Meeting Stones never summoned at any point in Vanilla. This was in TBC that the functionality was added.

There was a “grouping feature” in vanilla where you could sign up at the meeting stone and group with other signed up players. This was pretty useless though and nobody used it.

No.

Clearly. But, you’re welcome nonetheless despite the little tirade.

Correct. They had various tweaks of their grouping functionality but they never summoned until BC. Specifically:

Patch 2.0.1 (2006-12-05): Meeting Stones now function similar to a Warlock Summon spell.

They’re right though, google is an important skill to learn

Chilling out is also an important skill to learn. I’m a software dev I google for a living

I’m very calm at the moment. Hoping to help people improve their life by informing them that the whole of human knowledge is available at their fingertips.

Well this is embarrassing…OP is specifically talking about summoning stones (it’s even in the title). The crap you spewed is about meeting stones.

Yes, @Venthos, your condescending reply was unwelcome, and wrong. The OP asked about summoning stones, not meeting stones.

Next time how about a 1 line reply like, "I believe that was patch x.x (link here) instead of your “learn to google” rant.

Yikes. My bad. Allow me to correct myself.

Summoning Stones never have existed in any version of WoW, ever. Perhaps you mean Meeting Stones? Players often incorrectly referred to Meeting Stones as Summoning Stones. If you mean Meeting Stones, see my prior reply.

Better?

Meeting stones were given summoning functionality in the BC patch and that information is clearly spelled out from the first google result
