Not all the time. I had to search high and low for “how often must I engage in combat, for me to learn the pet skill”. 'Cause Petopia tells you to tame those pets (with the specific skill you want) and then engage in combat. But it fails to tell you, “you may need to do this, for awhile”:
I “necro’d” a 2 Month Thread. People forget, the ones “necroing” are actually using Google. 'Cause Google doesn’t pop up new Threads. Only old ones.
I was pretty straightforward from the start about “lazily googling”. I wasn’t exactly attacking the subject matter, figured I’d just defer to the community and get some bonus discussion out of it, such as what I got with the distinction between summoning stones and meeting stones, and the extra tidbit about pet combat.
I know, right? Gnasha and Sique couldn’t help but ride out the semantics wagon despite my original answer advising the proper answer. Ah well, happy to be of help
The stones are the same IIRC, just that in BC the functionality changed.
I only remember using the group finder feature from vanilla once
Once because it would up making a group of 3 healers, and hunter and no one that could take a punch.
Literally no one used the summoning stones in vanilla. For 2 reasons:
1: it was essentially joining a queue but you already had to be at the instance to join it.
2: it almost never gave you a group with a healer and tank. It would initially look for a group with all required roles, but the time limit for it to expand to just fill 5 warm (are undead bodies warm…?) was low enough that when you did actually try to use it, you’d get put in a group with 4-5 dps.
No, 1.12 had nothing to do with TBC. That was patch 2.0
We don’t have any of the burning crusade tuning, skills, talents, etc.
We are not in the pre-tbc patch. Meeting stones will never summon people in classic. They may at some point function as a group finder, if you dont mind groups without tanks or healers in it.
