Do emulators trigger the anti-cheat

While sitting in extremely long queues I’m curious if it’s safe for me to play my gamecube emulator on the side without fear of it triggering any sort of false positive.

Unfortunately CS will not be able to go into details about the anti-cheat tech. Usually as far as I know though, it looks mainly for things interacting with the wow client and stream, but beyond that it is a secret development likely will keep internal.

As always, use at your own risk. That being said, I have Snes9x, Gopher64 and MAME installed on my machine for a long time, so far so good.

If they don’t touch the wow client, they’re probably fine.

They should be fine so long as they aren’t running while WoW is running. The same goes for most other softwares(assuming they don’t have a kernel level driver or services that can cause shenanigans without an app actively running).

Again, do not run them while WoW is running.

In general no. Could something flag? anything is possible, while unlikely. Sometimes though programs you run have unintended programs running or hooking into things that are not expected, so use at your own risk.

When in doubt do not run a program like that while wow or bnet are running. Do not have it in memory.

They really should be able to give a yes or no on this topic.

It would be nice to know what we can, and cannot have on our own computers.

No that would be a gold mine for bot makers theyd find a way to make emulators bypass the cheating detections and enable botting easier.

Doesnt matter if theres a way bot makers will find and then blizzard will have to crack down on emulators bot makers arent stupid thats why there as old as ultima oniline.

Not being lazy! Everyone is told not to say Yes or not when it comes to any program like that. As they could say yes today and a year from now or even a month later that can change. Somethings they want to keep out of the public light. More information that the bot makers and cheaters can not use for their advantage!

Blizzards policy is they don’t approve or deny the use of 3rd party software, it’s always use at your own discretion and risk. We don’t need a list, some critical thinking would help.
