Do boosters get banned?

Boosting is not banned.

Only “service” bans have been gdkp in some era variants. Kind of.

there are discords for it if one looks. when you have 25 people in agreement, they won’t be dropping dimes lol.

I guess one could go undercover. which need money. Its not like blizzard would go thank you for the spy work…here is your 5k gold bid back lol. That won’t be happening.

that ban jsut cleaned up channel 4 and trade really.

That may not matter, a lot of leveling boosters are level 11 fury warriors with leech they can basically spam whirlwind and solo the entire dungeon. Tank and/or healer aren’t really needed

That isn’t necessarily against TOS either, I think multi boxing is allowed or was that changed recently?

Non-participation is against the ToS.

He said the healer wasn’t “really healing,” assuming no one in the group went down and assuming the healer tossed at least a couple heals out randomly you could make the case they did participate.

The OP didn’t say they were afk it’s a bit vague I don’t think any of us can be sure if exactly what happened was within TOS or not

They weren’t participating on their healers. They were just on follow.

If it’s a good boost it’s allowed, if it’s an RMT boost then you can get banned. So your question boils down to whether it was a gold or RMT boost, and the answer is you’ll never know unless they state which type it is to you.

You can report boosters if you want, but the majority of the time nothing is going to happen to them.

You think we are going to break a nail/claw banging on the keyboard in mythic raid nights? :nail_care: :smirk:

Are you the OP on a different character? Did the group wipe or did anyone go down?

Non-participation is non-participation. Don’t defend it.

Again I’m asking are you the OP on an alt, or were you in the group?

If the healer tossed a holy nova or a Wild growth every minute then they participated

I did old TW dungeons on timewalk geared tank and the healer basically followed sound 1% of heal and 1% are you saying we should have reported them

To answer your direct question: there is no rule against having a boosted character. The are game rules against boosting via real money but if its been boosted in the game by someone carrying them, that isn’t a gamebreaker. Doing it in a regular dungeon group is a bit tacky but there’s not a lot you can do.

I think that’s the thing people are getting tied up on they’re equating what they don’t like into something they is against the rules but that’s just not the case.

You guys are so deep in this, you are using terms that I don’t know. What is RMT?

I know IRL is “in real life”.

RMT, Real-Money Transaction. It’s a violation of the agreements made when signing up for the game. Some people still do it, but it is a bannable offense.

RMT means paying 10 bucks for a run, which isn’t ok. But paying 10000 gold is for example

No it’s not. :person_facepalming: If it was half the people in LFR would be banned.

This actually isn’t true. The realm doesn’t matter. The only thing that makes it bananable, other than obvious things like rmt, is escrow. So if it’s an organized community in which the seller isn’t also a player, and the gold goes to a bank to be distributed, it’s escrow and against tos. That being said, they aren’t going to ban or even take any action against 10s of thousands of players for this unless they suspect rmt

Only if they’re taking irl money to do it. If its with in-game gold then no, boosting isn’t against ToS. They just aren’t allowed to use trade chat to advertise it.

I have an 11 warr with a 3 socket DF neck, 3 socket chest from TBC, etc, etc…
You’re mansplaining this to dodge the point that you originally missed and it’s not necessary.

OP obviously noticed the healer was afk, which was the root causality of him saying something in group and making this thread.
I don’t see what angle you are coming from other than you support afking in dungeons.
