Do boosters get banned?

Do people who admit their boosting get banned.
Im just wondering as I was kicked in dungeon group because a healer wasn’t really healing and the tank part member said this was a boost and to not initiate another kick on said person. If that person was to reported what are the chances they will get banned?

How do you mean?

There is a boosting service through the game that costs money and is legit or the boosting services offered by players which if done correctly is also legit.

Them boosting someone for ingame golds is not a bannable offence.

They do if they do it for RMT.

Gold no

Problem is the vast majority of them just RMT the gold they’re given, to fund it as an IRL job.

It’s also mostly cross realm boosting communities with throwaway accounts spambotting services chat, also against tos.

I know on my realm 99% of service chat is this. Like 30 of the toons spamming on moonguard’s services chat is run by one person and they have an RMT website matching the branding of their shell staging discord. The people on their discord sit in gold selling discords too.

Boosting in-game using proper in-game channels and in-game currency (or just boosting your pals) isn’t against the rules. Anything in which cash changes hands, or which relies on exploits including pvp win trading, are against the rules and do get people banned. The chance of them doing RMT for random dungeon carries is near-zero.

They RMT the gold they’re given. You don’t have to pay them IRL money, they convert it to such with your gold. They turn good gold bad.

You shouldn’t have tried to kick the booster n enjoy the carry.

Some, absolutely. I suspect many do not. You don’t need to do RMT to get in-game mounts, fund your season’s worth of consumables, get skins in overwatch, pay for your subscription, etc.

What kind of boosting? Because dragging somebody along for free is fine, as is charging them gold. Real money? No. Advertising cross-realm for boosting of any kind? Also no.

lol. Just couldn’t leave well enough alone could ya.

Did the group wipe? Is that why you initiated a vtk?

Boosting is allowed.

Gold only.

Blizz sometimes showcase boosting communities, so they’re cool with all that token money.

But that’s fine for the person getting carried, they did everything legit.

On moonguard that’s false.

I went around checking every single one’s ad in services chat last month. Every single one wound up being a fake shell staging discord that brought in cross realm boosters (against tos), and every single one had the people running them sitting in gold selling discords.

It’s not 10%, it’s not 50%, it’s 99% of the services chat boost ads being against TOS in some form.

Well, of course Moon Guard has to outsource.

Where that fact chart at?

The boosters like to hide themselves getting their adbots banned by making new toons on new accounts with a near identical name to their banned one.

We even have a meme for it:

Go ahead and report them then. I suspect that 99% is an exaggeration personally, and I think being on one of the biggest servers skews that data drastically, but if you see violations, go ahead and report them by all means.

Yes, that’s about right. If they are a minimum level account they are almost certainly sketch at best.

And 99% of services chat on moonguard is precisely that.

If you ignore anyone below level 80 in service chat you see like 1 post every 4 hours. If you don’t, then you get an infinite scroll of spam.
