Do boosters get banned?

I report boosters all the time in trade chat. It’s against TOS, and I’ll usually get a notice a few days later saying something along the lines of “A player you reported had actions taken against their account because of your report. Thank you for making Azeroth a better place.” or something like that. They don’t tell you the name of the player, or the type of action taken, so I’m not sure if it’s just a suspension or a full ban.

I found a copy of the in-game mail that is received.

That’s sort of the sisyphean task of quashing the spam. Those low-level accounts are extremely quick to replace when banned, sadly.

Would not be hard for Blizzard to require players to be max level to post to services chat first.

Like him or not Asmon did a good video a while ago, summary is “if an account makes X amount before being banned, and costs Y then it is a profit and will continue.”

Blizzard would basically have to ban people before they sold any runs to make it unprofitable

Not if they do it for gold only, and keep it legit. Liquid guild for example sells raid boosts, mythic+ etc, through their discord. They’re the world first guild right now.

That’s not a bad idea. My only concern is it might encourage them to breech their container and spill into other channels.

Yeah, that’s the truth of it so long as X > Y. Basic financial lit there.

I feel like you all missed the point made that it was a healer role not healing.

No but sitting at 20% for most of a dungeon while another player died multiple times does cause the action to be kicked and not rezzing said dying player. I did ask if the healer was going to heal no response came from him and then the leader I guess of the boosting service said “we run this lobby this a boost so shut up and don’t initiate another vote”. I don’t do well with bullies of any kind so I gave my response which caused me be kick which honestly don’t care I’m just wondering where Blizzard stands on boosting and I got the responses I needed.

If the group is still clearing the content, and the majority of the group wants him there, I doubt Blizzard cares. Even if they would care, the solution there is a report for hindering team progress.

Boosting isn’t actionable. This might be for hindering team progress, and depending on the language used by the group lead that may be actionable as well.

yea he didn’t say anything offensive instead tried to enforce his dominance of said lobby

Most are actually answering the question that was asked.

OP has clarified a little more, AFTER your comment.

Edit:

Actually it may not have been OP, unless they switched posting characters for whatever reason but they replied directly to me.

Does this mean that the “vote to kick” is being used by the gold sellers and is one of the factor to why players are getting kicked unfairly left and right out of dungeons? I mean the amount of kick threads seems to be coming out quite a bit.

The only time it is against the rules is if they sell runs for real money or offer/advertise their services in any other channel other than Trade Services. I’m pretty sure.

Zero chance.

Some takeaways:

  • Cannot make a toon just for services chat.
  • Cross Realm Boosting is not allowed.
  • Cannot make a toon to advertise a run and then have someone else run the run while you do not.

Those lvl 10 panda dks spambotting services chat are breaking all of these.

No. It means repeatedly attempting to kick somebody that the rest of the dungeon doesn’t want kicked is a good way to get yourself kicked.

meh…just try to get thru it ASAP if you see that crap going on. Not worth the 30 min timeout.

Ive seen boxers who leave alts behind and we’re running with four instead of five…claim its their friend or wife or something but the character never moves lol. Not even sure what theyre doing. I thought youhad to be a certain distance from the group to get XP.

They should!

How many toddlers with broken heads do we need to see before we realize those things topple right out of the damn chair! Just velcro the kid to a unicycle…

So you admit you missed the point made that it was a healer role not healing which is mechanically and socially the problem with someone joining queued content with the intention of afking.

Read the post. The healer was an AFK second account of the tank.
