as per the question does a BFA CD key still redeemable?

Now that BfA is rolled into the base game, I believe only the CE key codes would be valid to add the CE pets/mounts etc.

Correct! The standard edition of BfA is now included with the base version of World of Warcraft. So standard edition codes shouldn’t work anymore.
