Do any female players play male characters?

So, I’ve always played male characters. I’ve always felt strange playing a female character.

When I asked my buddy why he plays female characters only, he said that he’d rather stare at a females behind than a males. I thought that was ridiculous.

Do any female players like to play male characters? I imagine that the distance between the male line of thinking and the female line of thinking is separated by a vast ocean of thought on the subject but yeah… do you do it for aesthetics, because you want to, etc?

Do any female players play male characters? Out of the hundreds of thousands of women who play this game, has a single one created a male character? Yes.

I don’t think I know anyone who created a character because they didn’t want to. I wanted to create all of mine

This was years ago, during Cata, and hopefully the environment has changed, but a friend of mine said she played male characters because sometimes people would just assume a female character was indicative of the player always being female…and then they’d get weird. At least having a male character would delay the weird until vent

Well, the wording on the post was a bit rough but I don’t want to offend anyone.

Also, you’re my late night buddy. You’re always up postin’ around late the evening.

Like that.

Idk if it really matters in WoW tbh. But in ESO you can trust I only play males with certain sliders on the thicc side

I’ve never played a male character. I did roll a drac’thyr though but I call it an it.

I play male characters at times but mostly as a meme

I don’t mind human male and blood elf male, but i’d never main it. A few days here and there is okay now that genderswap is free

Other games i avoid male characters at all cost usually and will avoid playing single player games if there are no female options at all. Was really happy they added a female spartan option to halo

Just preference :woman_shrugging:

I play male characters in most of my games. I just prefer them. The exception is in this game where my Night Elf Mage was female because I hated the way the male Night Elves were shaped. I prefer tallish and thin with more even hip to shoulders rather than WoW’s overly muscled carrot shape. :frowning:

So what do you do when you play a game where the main character you are playing is a certain gender that is opposite to your gender and you have no option to change genders? Is that too weird for you?

Hardly.

No matter which model you play with is a projection of your desire.

Be it for what you want to be or who you’d like to be with.

This reason has been given since 1999 and maybe even earlier than that but to this day it makes zero sense to me.

When I’m running my characters around, I’m looking at the landscape, my minimap, mobs I might be running too close to or cliffs/ledges I might run off of, especially in SWTOR because gd they love killing players this way.

I don’t get how anyone could play effectively by staring at their toon’s butt as much as these people claim.

I have a few dude-ly characters. Why not? I don’t play them as actively, though. Mostly they’re semi-NPCs for RP plot stuff.

yes for maybe reasons not likely.

Of course not. I don’t prioritize games with male protagonists.

I’m just curious on games where you can pick your gender. Given the option, would you have made your Aloy or Laura Croft male or not, ya know?

Of course. I prefer female models most of the time because I like how they look more, but I prefer the male Undead and Zandalari Troll models.

I prefer playing male characters. I’ve found that playing female toons (unless I’m a Tauren) gets people bugging me a lot.

GW2 it’s flipped.
