Do 2k achievements mean that much to casuals?

Ok, so funny story. Last night out of boredom started carrying healers to 2k. I was actually shocked at how much it meant to them. One of them even told me he’d been playing WoW for 7 years and had never gotten to 2k and said he was actually crying. LOL! Oh and i did these carries for free. Youre welcome alliance!! :astonished: :flushed: :flushed: :flushed: :flushed: :astonished: :hushed: :open_mouth:  :exploding_head: :cold_sweat:

Varies from player to player. For some people that’s casual level. But to a lot of people that’s pretty high rated. Personally I think it’s a good achievement. Up to 2k is easily puggable imo, where above it is when you have to start playing better, communicating, and playing meta comps.

I was pumped for it last season because it was my first time in 2s getting it. Whereas 3s it doesn’t mean much since I’ve gotten it plenty of times.

You’re beginning his journey. I remember the first time I got 2k, in MoP running TreeHDK, it was such an exciting feat, I worked so hard for it, and I was very proud.

But then the game becomes, how do I go further?

Maybe you have ignited their passion for PvP, and their next step will be “how do I get 2.2”

Do you remember your first time getting a rating you were really proud of?

Idk man. I remember when it seemed like an impossible goal. I don’t really know how rating works and by the time I was playing to 2k on my own I didn’t really care. But I can remember in wrath hitting walls above 1800 and going like +5 +5 +5 -20 +5 +5 +5 -20 and it feeling like an impossible climb lol.

So maybe some people gave up instead of trying again and never thought they’d make it. I haven’t seen +5’s in a long time and even longer since i’ve seen a -20. Dunno how any of that works would be thrilled if someone could explain it.

eh 2.2 is no different then 2k tbh.

2.4 is the harder one to achieve. BUT BFA did make 2.4 glad range so makes it easier I guess.

You were pretty stoked for it this season too for the double dps 2s haha.

I’m one of those guys it means something to. Something about that first digit being a 2 instead of a 1 just means something to us casuals.

If you’re looking at the entire playerbase of WoW, hitting 2k in arenas (2s or 3s) is far less then 5% of the total population.

True, some don’t like pvp. And some like pvp, but maybe not arenas. But its definitely a very solid achievement that 95% of WoW players will never see.

Really? Only 5% of players will ever get to 2k. No way. I want to see that website that shows that.

I don’t really need a website. Just look around a bit. There are entire guilds of raiders that have (at most) 1 or 2 duelist titles.

The game has mostly raiders. Arenas has a very very small fraction of interest among the general playerbase.

I’ve also personally never hit 2k, and again its mostly because i play with my friends that just want to mongo their 50 wins for a mount or something. They don’t want to learn crosses, proper cc, switching, positioning, counterplay, etc.

I keep telling myself that i’m gonna get back into arenas, but I also get lazy on building my ui for all the macros involved and instead just go do uldum dailies (or whatever.

Kudos to you btw, helping some pve healers hit that 2k. :hugs:

Yeah that was 2.1 tho :kissing_heart:

Ah that’s fair lol

My guildy went nuts in guild chat when he got 2.1k as Assass/Hpal (both guildies) hes a pretty avid pvper too.

Highest ive been is 1960 using lfg.

While farming echoes on my ret, i played with a few healers who were trying to get to 2.1. They were all pretty stoked when we got it.

Ok and just for giggles, take a few minutes sometime and go find forum threads in the General Discussion (not the arena forums.)

They’ll be talking about Covenants, or Torghast, or complaining about cloak upgrades costing too much on their alts or w/e. Look at a few profiles and see if they have any arena achievements.

I think you’ll be surprised at the number of folks that don’t even have the “step into the arena” achieve.

I remember my first 1800/2200 weps, good times…

If you’re never hit those ratings before than yeah its a big deal, don’t you remember when you were a learning noob?
