So can anyone explain to me how dks get spellwarding even though they don’t even have the enchant on their weapon. I keep rereading the honor talent it seems to me it is not supposed to actually give you benefit if you don’t have spell warding on the dam weapon.
You don’t need it in your weapon and it’s the third most taken talent according to drustvar.
Such a stupid honor talent dude. Their toolkit is already pretty anti spell caster without them having a freaking 8k shield pop up randomly everytime one of my dots ticks on them.

Lol what. Just because a spec isn’t well represented or meta doesn’t mean people can’t make valid complaints about it.
The talents busted, can just talent into it and swap out when you zone in and get it for free. Basically gives every dk a free 4th honor talent nobody else has that helps massively against casters.
Dk is fine the other melee arms especially are just over tuned.

It’s pretty funny Xelonith constantly malds over locks despite playing one of the best anti caster classes in the game. Not to mention being unholy so can run full buffed magic shell and just pretty much completely negate aff lock for 20 seconds every minute.

I’m wondering if full mastery moonkin & Pulsar could be good in a double wizard comp. Every minute or so dumping three 15-20k surges if you get big uptime.

its not just for casters. every other melee has built in magic damage for some reason so it gives dk the only other viable option for survivability because we used to just die to anything. even then it offers very little benefit to warriors, bm/mm hunters, combat/sub rogues, which are some of the biggest problems in pvp right now.

partially true. u get the weaker version of it. 3% less magic dmg and 10% shield. also it seems to procc way less without the honor talent.
against affliction u should keep the spellwarding talent for sure.
its 10 sek and basically the only def we have without giving up offensive honor talents.
and uhdk needs those for pressure.

That combo is what makes it a 20 second duration with a 20k+ absrob. Now before you go “oh but dks have to give up a damage leggo and a good other talent spot to do that”. Yeah you’re right. But I never ran into it as anything except as aff, when I qued aff I have never faced an unholy who didn’t run that combo outside one or two in the 1400 bracket on my alt.
The combo of the spellwarding bug abuse and the talent + leggo is actually so tilting on aff, I cant apply dots while magic shell is up but since its so high of an absorb I have no way to break it. So I gotta pray my current dots and whatever rapture spam I can do is enough. Otherwise I have a dk hitting me for 20 seconds for free that I literally cant do anything to stop him.
tbh i would be surprised if uhdk’s in that bracket even have that leggy made. if one uses it sure its pretty ceazy defensive wise against affl. its even 24sek duration with leggy + talent.
u already predicted the response but if u want to get pressure u better get an offensive leggy.
Thats the thing. You don’t need extra pressure when you can be completely immune to the class your facing for 20 seconds on a minute cd while still having all your other disruptive toolkit.
I have a like 90% loss rate against unholys on aff because of it, yeah it’s gimmicky but if I was unholy it’s what I’d do against an aff. Makes the game too easy.
You don’t even have to have it selected at all and it will proc it’s just really buggy in general
