Another trick I like to use is to channel Divine Hymn while under PI because you can cut the channel down to 4s.
I used Divine Hymn in a +10 Grim Batol to help plug in some healing cd gaps I had on fire boss and the last one. On the last boss I ripped PI w/ Divine Hymn and Coagulated Blood trinket during the AOE phase and it kept everyone alive.
I’m going to try pushing +11s now. +12s still seem a bit scary.
Assume all you want and be wrong. But if you didn’t care you wouldn’t have gone out of your way to say I don’t care.
That guy thinks we all use the ability to try heal through big dmg when in reality we are using it just for the buff like 99% of the priests who run the talent in M+.
Seems too hard to understand this is a post to request the talent to be an actual healing CD for dungeons like Evokers have (And they can move while doing it)

except you cast divine hymn before the big AOE damage so that everyone has 20% increased healing during the aoe phase making it easier to heal…how do you and everyone else not understand that? Do you just not run high keys and know that you are supposed to be planning ahead and not reacting while it’s happening? If you wait to try and heal everyone while they are at 50% life and big AOE is coming out now then you already messed up…
Exactly. You use Divine Hymn about 10 seconds before the Big AOE so that healing said Big AOE is easier, from the 20% increased healing. People playing HPriest should know this, or just any healers in general. As a Healer if you are playing by reacting, especially in high keys, instead of planning, you are playing wrong and will struggle badly freaking out and trying to heal everyone when HPriest has the worst AOE healing lol.
Hpriest is a reactive healing. Pretty much all your kit heals when the dmg occurs, not before. Only time you have to proc before dmg occurs is your cooldowns, maybe you want Halo to be rollin a few seconds before, or procing DW/Apotheosis before but that’s it.
Having to overheal all Divine hymn channel just for a 20-30% healing is bad design in my opinion and should be changed. That’s what the post is about, I know how to play my spec

Sadly Blizzard has shown they have no issues with priests having to overheal to set up their actual healing. I mean disc needs to get Atonement out before big damage in order to effecticely heal it which tends to mean you Radiance just to ensure its applied even if only 1-2 people are injured before it hits.
Its clear no one working on priest at Blizzard actually understands healing.

It’s clear no one at Blizzard is working on priests at all.
Also Divine Hymn sucks and giving Priests one (1) decent AoE spell would not be gamebreaking. Like at all.
