which can be completely avoided if you pick your fights away from towns and other regular NPC’s. It’s your choice on how you wish to fight in open world PvP.
Single target attacks aren’t an issue while fighting in town, but if you open up AoE attacks, welp maybe learn how to best control those powers
Hah. If you changed the word ‘should’ to something like ‘would be preferable’ you might have a chance of getting me on board. But atm I don’t think I would prefer it. But there is a chance.
Anyway, the reason they are using 1.12 is that is the most complete data point of vanilla they have.
Not that it gives us the “bestest version of vanilla wow”. I mean sure, it actually is, but they have no substantial data prior to 1.12. It’s more of a happy coincidence than that’s the way they intended it to work out.
They have said in interviews they have SOME prior data, but it certainly isn’t enough to build the whole game on.
The dev team isn’t aiming at 1.12 for a standard, but for a feeling of how the game works, which is why they’ve actually coded some harmless visual bugs back into the game.
This is a good argument in favor of rolling back dk’s until a later appropriate patch/phase. The dev team has stated before they don’t want to manipulate player behavior unwarranted.
Hey, if it helps with making the change, great! I did a lot of world PvP back in those times on my feral druid, was a blast, but honestly don’t recall when said change took place.
Perhaps Blizz made a lot of similar decisions like this as a means to simply set their sites on 1.12 and not worry about certain incremental changes that happened within a short period of time.
Not having DHKs is not a change. There was a time where there were no dhks. Adding dhks into the game was that “good intention” you so horribly ineptly referred to.
It is most likely a reaction checksum… where the death of all NPCs check for the value of “Civilian” status if true; result Dishonorable Kill… something like that…
super easy and not hard to correct, test and verify…
His analogies are fine. You are picking and choosing which changes are important to you and not. Which is 100% fine. But that means you weaken your ‘No changes’ argument.
I have no problems with you wanting or preferring this change. But your thread says this change is ‘NEEDED.’ and I havn’t seen an argument that is convincing of a need.
Systems… and then there is content… if you have a problem with Blizzard to why they delay certain content, thats a entire difrent argument…
DHKs is part of 1.12 systems and how the world functions… if you want to delay DHKs, as a system, thats like saying we then need a delayed system how civilians spawns, or make them spawn faster, since the very existance of DHKs, was introduced as a system, to stop people from killing quest givers… when the DHK, system later was removed in 2.0 ?, it also changed how other systems worked…
