Valid, and apologies, I’d say it’s because I haven’t slept since the 9th but while that’s true I don’t think my judgement would have been any better with sleep. I appreciate the rational rebuttal, and you’re right we did get somewhere.
Oh no! I’m so sorry. I hope you can get some rest.
And I understand how easy it is for the more ridiculous opinions to stand out. They really do. lol
My brain doesn’t let me stop doing something until it’s finished or it can’t feasibly continue. Writing prepatch guides atm…
Just make sure you take care of yourself. You’re good people. And always knowledgeable and helpful. I don’t want to see you get sick or something.
The forums seems to have a disdain mentality towards those who wants the game to become more solo oriented
I dont get that impression at all. And I’m very much a solo player 99% of the time and a forum grub.

In a MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER ONLINE game? Gee, I wonder why… Obligatory /s.
There is if you play content for more than just acquiring ilvl. However if that solo content is substantially easier than everything else that awards that ilvl then there’s an issue.
The difficulty scaling doesn’t scale the same way with less people in a game like wow because the biggest difficulties are about overlaps and coordination with multiple players. In that way solo content will always be below group content because this isn’t dark soul, the complexity of your character and solo mechanics just doesn’t go that high as it doesn’t scale multiplicatively like group content.
Moreover, I think it is hard to apply your point that (group) content should not be about acquiring better gear as that’s the whole point of giving more rewards to solo content. For me it’s a contradiction to try to support one but not the other.
I think if you’re realist you gotta understand that A LOT of people that play modern games, mmos and wow specifically care about progression and feeling like the time they put into a video game did something. Yes content should be fun, I think nobody is saying that it shouldn’t, and you can be goal focused or a more social type of player but that doesn’t mean that gear doesn’t help you spending more time in the game and having even more fun.
Solo content is cool, I just wish they’d cook up more non-trivial stuff.
I like the world, it just doesn’t have any teeth.
Even open world players that are actually serious tell these few people they’re being ridiculous.
GD is a world of fews. There is no majority representation, here.
Untrue statement, I feel most of us are for solo content… but at least myself believes they shouldn’t receive top end gear like in the top end content designed for groups (heroic and mythic raiding and high M+)
Untrue statement, I feel most of us are for solo content…
Well, yeah. It’s some of the most popular content in the game. “Why does everybody hate popular thing” is just an easy, safe way to present your idea, sort of like “why is nobody talking about thing everybody is talking about”.
Low effort means of generating interest.
There’s no incentive to do group content if solo content gives the same level of rewards.
So what? Why shouldn’t people be allowed to play the game the way they want to play?
So what? Why shouldn’t people be allowed to play the game the way they want to play?.
Because it is degenerative game design which would destroy the entire loot system heirarchy and would be horrible for the game overall.
I think that they should do away with traditional difficulty modes. Make solo the hardest raid content and drop the best gear. Make it so group raids get easier and easier with more people and give lesser gear. More fun with folks while you can be serious by yourself and not depend on other peoples time
So who does it destroys the loot hierarchy for, the people who want to be full level full gear on day one of an expansion so they can go directly to high level dungeons and raids and couldn’t care less about the rest of the game or everyone else?
im not a fan of his trigger discipline
Other than two new raids… What do group players get in patches?
Zones and questing are probably the most expensive thing they make. Delves, Torghast, follower dungeons, constant trickles of story content, new zones… and pretty much all of it is play once and forget it content. But that’s where most of the development goes.
Think the disdain is, some people are tired of hearing about it. They bend over backwards putting in solo content and every conceivable way for solo players to catch up and play the game. But it’s never enough. Because solo story content has no replay value. No matter how much effort they put towards solo content and systems to keep solo players happy, it’s never enough.
Constant deluge of new quest, zones and systems and what do group players get? Two raids, the same 8 dungeons from the start and a bunch recolor dungeons. Any new dungeons, Any new battle grounds, Nope.
So who does it destroys the loot hierarchy for, the people who want to be full level full gear on day one of an expansion so they can go directly to high level dungeons and raids and couldn’t care less about the rest of the game or everyone else?
Maybe it destroys the loot hierarchy for people who play for 2 months straight but only actually give 1-2 hours of content gameplay, spending the rest of the time AFK in their hub city, eating Cheetos and making men out of straw on the forums.
It feels gross even to satirize you with this word slop.
disdain mentality towards those who wants the game to become more solo oriented
It’s just coping and seething. That is the direction the game is going. Some people are stomping their feet about it.
The game will become more solo friendly/oriented as time goes on and those complaining will either tucker themselves out or leave. Everyone wins.
The forums seems to have a disdain mentality towards those who wants the game to become more solo oriented and against offering more solo play experiences and have alternative ways to gear and alternative difficult contents that can be done by one player instead of many.
The power of “many” is absolutely sewage-tiered cringe.
