Ever since the release of wrath, I have had an issue with my blizzard account disconnecting. I’ve disconnected nearly 100 times in a 24 hour period before, with some days being worse than others. Things may be fine for hours until I eventually go into a series of disconnections & reconnections, always occurring multiple times each time it happens. Thursday night during raid, I had no issues for 2.5 hours and then the last 30 minutes was unplayable because I would be disconnected and then disconnected again within 3 seconds to 2 minutes of reconnecting, over and over and over. I type this as I am being disconnected & reconnected for 5 minutes straight. As I mentioned, this is a battle.net issue. This happens to me when I am playing WoW as well as Hearthstone, however it doesn’t happen during any of my other games and I do NOT lose internet connection while this is happening, I only disconnect from battlenet. I have done all the recommended suggestions in the help/support page and still struggle with this issue, PLEASE help me so I can enjoy playing blizzard games again before I inevitably unsub and give up.
This is what the tech support fourm is for where not only blues but also players that care to read are there as such they see common issues and fixes. While some lawyers that just know how to fix stuff tend to be there.
The general fourms is not a good place to get tech fixes it’s why the tech fourm exists.
Also you not losing internet connection dose not make it auto a Bnet issue. There are many ways to lose internet connection on your end but yet only lose connection to set apps not all apps. A example is a loss of connection on the ports that client uses. This can happen from your firewall blocking those port or even just some packages on those ports. Or the other apps you are looking at may be less sensitive to packet loss than the apps in question.
So at this point you got nothing to show this is a Bnet issue you need your log files to show that which also the tech support fourm tells you how to get that in there sticky’s.
Also you have not done all the suggestions in the help and support page as going to the tech support fourm is one of those suggestions.
have your tried deleting your WTF interface and cache folders in your wow directory?( these will be rebuilt when you launch game) then try enabling or disabling the network optimisation or ipv6 enabled
i would also try reinstalling the Bnet launcher incase something has got corrupt along the way if it is a firewall issue this should resolve that. also try running it as administrator.
If you have mods, delete them. Run the bare client only, without mods.
Update your video and sound drivers.
Make sure your antivirus/antimalware knows WoW’s/Battlenet’s .exe is safe so it doesn’t keep trying to shut it down or block it with a firewall.
This is a terrible thing to do and should only be last resort, and backup all your addon settings first.
this is one of the steps on tech support. it takes 1 minute with curse forge to redownload the addons. the point is to reset everything to factory incase its a settings issue
I know and it is a terrible inconvenience if you have customized them.
Simply disabling addons should be enough to test.
well no thats not gonna change any custom settings this user maybe have tried. but i personal would not mind taking the 2 minutes to reset the UI to eliminate addons and settings being the issue if after this you can fully eliminate the game itself, anoying maybe but prefer that then being dced ever 5 minutes,
