Hi there!
So I’ve been doing an experiment to make all types of hunters on a particular realm then wanting to level them a bit at a time and wanting to play with animations etc. I’ve made it to my 10th hunter on a realm (a male draenei) and I get DC’d every single time I try to make him. I tested to make another and I managed to make a male BE (now the 10th) But now I cannot make a female BE (11th).
Is there some kind of internal timer that prevents you from making too many characters in a time frame?
Only for Demon Hunters, and it actually tells you that creation is throttled and does not just disconnect you. I would advise a UI reset.

Sorry for my ignorance, but how would UI affect my ability to continue making hunters of all races and genders? I’m not even, at this point, logging into the game with them yet; I am merely in the character creation screen. I am willing to give it a go, just curious.
UI reset is troubleshooting 101 a corrupted UI can cause all sorts of bugs its a good start.

Thanks, mate. I’ve given it a go.
I managed to make another 9, since there has been a break in time to do the UI reset and write on here, and I’m disconnecting again on the 10th (and 21st overall, a male tauren hunter). I’m beginning to think there is something coded in to prevent making too many characters (more than 9) on a realm within a particular time. Maybe as an anti-bot measure or something.
Thats a good possibility since hackers tend to jump frequently between toons and accounts and use low lvl toons.

Blizz should install a button to check if the name you choose is taken. They do it for a name change so it can’t be that difficult. So I’m now “throttled” for checking names? Why is no mention of this on the character creation screens?
I’m not entirely certain why it was necessary to bump a thread from March for a similar, but ultimately unrelated matter. It would have been fine to start your own thread.
Those that make and delete a bunch of characters in a short amount of time are often gold sellers and others participating in nefarious deeds.
I’m not certain why you must create a character that you don’t intended to have the name. If you are seeking a name for a character, make it for that character.
Regardless, if you feel there should be a name check option built into character creation you’ll want to submit your suggestion through the option found through the in-game help menu.
