Disappointed

The fact that you saw nothing wrong with her posts shows your clear bias. That is the irony.

I am conflicted whether I should <3 the OP or not.

And yet those people aren’t posting poor me posts about why they’re quiting because of classic.

HEY LOOK AT ME!! REEEEeeee.

Is this what OP is suggesting?

No, they’re in the Classic™ forum trying to advocate for changes…

Wrong attitude to take towards the situation Mel…

Quitting isn’t nearly as cathartic as outright getting revenge…

Just find the offending players in game, and murder them… over and over and over and over and over again.

And if they aren’t on a pvp server? Well, then they’re cowards regardless, why would a lion ever care about the opinions of a sheep?

or to sum it up in movie quotes (to be directed at your enemies)

That word does not mean what you think it means.

You should throw him a heart. The world (of Warcraft) can always use more love.

To be fair. As someone who has discussed this at nauseum in another thread, right-click report in and of itself is not a bad thing. It’s the auto-squelch feature that is the problem.

Auto squelch is the only thing that gives right click reporting any teeth. The OP for example made it clear in that thread they just want to be able to troll without consequences.

  1. Once you report them, they’re put on ignore, so you can’t hear them so what do you care what they do at that point.
  2. Why prevent them from saying even more stupid things and dig themselves an even bigger hole.
  3. Players should not be allowed to punish other players. Don’t care how many players it takes.
  4. It really doesn’t. People are going to say what they want to say regardless of a system. Being able to mass flag and squelch people doesn’t stop trolls, or people would have stopped trolling back in 07 when it was introduced.

I dunno about that, some of the persistent trolls on my server no longer spread their bile on trade and the place has be come a little more civil. I know of one that has been silenced for about a year.

That would probably because they were banned, which takes a GM to do. Once you report them, they are going to be placed on ignore for you, and a GM is going to read the report. Maybe do some cursory investigation for 5 minutes.

So if you can’t hear them, and the GM is going to read the report anyway, what possible reason do they need to be squelched for? And as I said, why stop them? Let them did that whole deeper and deeper and get themselves a real good ban if they’re that bad.

Like it or not an actual punishment is an effective deterrent.

Then why are there still trolls … 12 years later?

There are significantly less.

Citation needed.

Also there are significantly less players now then there was 12 years ago.

Why do people argue over a video game for 12 years? Trolling isn’t gonna go away. I just said I have seen a significant reduction of trolling on my server. I’d like to think it was because of the reporting system, but people are gonna make up whatever statistics to suit their agenda

Fewer players, fewer trolls.

And fewer trolls relatively as well

Yes, but riddle me this. Would the number of trolls be going down if BFA was successful? Because I would say no. The number of trolls relatively speaking is likely the same as what would be if BFA was bringing in those subs. But you go ahead and believe that a 12 year old system is suddenly stopping the trolls.
