Disappointed with fellow players

I’ve been playing WoW for around 18 years. Since starting cata classic I have experienced the most amount of ninja’ing, incompetent/reckless tanks, dps ignoring mechanics, and just general “lol nothing matters” attitude. Just minutes ago a warlock needed a strength cloak for his “mastery set.” Wtf?

People seem to be treating cata like a throwaway xpac/MoP waiting room. I really wish SoD hadn’t died.

Anyone else having a hard time with group content? I don’t even want to run heroics anymore. Probably won’t raid at this rate. Very disappointed with my fellow players right now. The game is fine, its the people in this multiplayer game that are ruining the experience.

Havent experienced any of this and i spam dungeons while questing in between queues. This is deff not Cata specific.

I’m glad you haven’t had a similar experience. Maybe its just Mankrik Horde players that are rotten.

the content is way too easy people aren’t taking it seriously, and there’s more ninja’ing because you need high ilvl to do dungeons so people are needing stuff just for the ilvl. if the raids and heroic dungeons are cakewalks this game won’t last long

RDF is cross realm.

True. I forgot about that. Guess I’ve been unlucky with pugs. Either way, I’m so turned off of the game I love. Feels bad. Wish people would try/care just a tiny bit.

The ninja looting is a problem. My buddy just started playing with me so a level 15 dungeon and this Druid was needing everything. Didn’t matter what. We tried to kick them, but the group ignored it and kept going. I’ve been leveling this guy and my first cataclysm dungeon had a priest get kicked for it.

RDF encourages that behavior. However its benefits outweigh its drawbacks IMO

Lmao bro isn’t wrong, demo warlock wants a mastery set to snapshot meta before swapping to your real set right b4 pull for max DPS :skull: thats funny af reason to need on it tho

I hope blizzard kills that mastery set swapping nonsense in the womb. That and demon twisting. Awful

Megaservers and RDF both encourage this behavior. Avoiding it was one of the original points of Classic.

can agree on that. Dungeon running, my bread and butter content in WoW has become annoying and unfun due to the toxicity and “I dont care” attitude of the community. This isnt the game or Blizzard, most of the biggest issues are on the people and how they chose to act/play/interact.

When I first started to pick up MMOs (which was before 2000, a game called Meridian59 and soon afterwards Everquest you occasionally ran into a jerk or toxic player but it was the absolute exception. Most people were eager to help, share, teamwork and socialize.

That behavior has slowly shifted over the years until its reversed. You “can” run into a good player nowadays but its rare. The norm are people who dont give a flying eff, berate and ridicule you and show next to no social skills.

All this same stuff happened in SoD, but worse. SoD was the most toxic experience I’ve ever had in any version of WoW that I’ve ever played.

Yes I would rather do 4 dungeons with RDF in a hour than waiting an hour to get one going. Even if half the time the runs are bad you can get into new group quick.

the playerbase has always been the worst part of wow.

People troll themselves now, I think the collective intelligence of WoW players has gone done too, at least among the younger ones.

Pulling with the entire group and healer LoS of you is trolling yourself. You’re gonna waste your own time if you die. In Cata I just let people die if I can see them blatantly ignoring mechanics. I don’t waste globals on low DPS either, they usually get healed last.

I’ll also sit there and drink until my mana bar is full even if the tank runs to the end of the dungeon pulling. Oh well, looks like he’s gonna die lol. The consequence is the tank’s repair bill, no one actually cares if the tank dies in Classic.

If you played MOBAs at all, especially Heroes of the Storm, you’ll understand that these people don’t care about numbers, they only care about results. So if the tank pulls 500 things and says, “youre not healing” but everyone can see that you healed them on the meter, you will still get vote kicked because everyone is results based now.

Vote kick is a toxic feature, if you even need it in the game something is wrong.

As a demo main, I’m actually enjoying demon twisting. Now, for the mastery thing, I don’t think that’s really all that important until raid bosses, so I haven’t done it. Slowly building a set off of what I get from greeding though.

Probably ninjaing too.

No? I have like 4 dungeon pieces saved, literally just greed and gotten lucky. I have 2 rep pieces and 1 crafted piece. And if it’s something I can’t use that I greed/win, I d/e for my enchanting recipes (now selling ig, since I have all recipes other than from maelstrom crystals).
