Disappointed in Blizzard making Sylvanas a villain

As far as factions and lore go, this has to be the worst decision they’ve made. She was the most badass faction leader in the game with the best background story.

She fought, risking her life to save her people, ultimately lost and instead of being killed, Arthas turned her into a banshee and made her a slave.

After regaining her freewill and body, she united other undead that regained freewill and fought for their right to exist and for revenge against the Arthas and Scourge.

And she was the coolest looking faction leader, she was dark, sexy, damaged, pissed off, powerful.

I dont even know who the leaders of the other factions are and have seen nothing that makes interested in finding out.

EDIT: Yes, we all know they made her a villain further in to the game, that’s the point of the post. It was a bad decision.

She was a wc3 character. Nothing in the story has been good or really memorable since wc3. The closest is garrosh

Sylvanas was always a villain, the forsaken have always been a means to an end, first to get revenge on Arthas, then to keep herself alive.

it’s just they were more hamfisted and less subtle about her motivations in BfA.

It never ceases to make me smile how quick Alliance players grab their pitchforks over Garrosh.

That is the true sign of a great Horde leader.

Nah, not Horde leaders. Just Garrosh. He’s a terrible character and it astounds me how many players are obsessed with loving him. He went from being a whiny baby to racist genocidal maniac in less than 1 expansion.

Those two pile up with giving Horde elves and creating out of nowhere the Draenei, everything about the Draenei should have been in a diferent game.

In all honest, I only remember the name Garrosh, so not a memorable character. I dont recognize the other name at all.

I tentatively agree. I’ve always loved Sylvanas. She’s cool, badass, and really the only female Horde leader in the game. She was under the Lich King’s control when she did all her bad stuff and it could be argued was under extreme duress. She literally had her soul separated from her body and didn’t even know where her body was for a while. Didn’t her soul get torn in half too?

And then we have Anduin who murdered people and did horrific things, he was literally a raid boss, when he was under the Jailor’s influence but that’s OK all is forgiven because he’s a baby faced blonde human? It seems to me there’s a double standard.

For all the Sylvanas hating incel bros, calm down, I could be wrong as I"m just now getting into lore after 15 years of playing. It seems to me though that Sylvanas deserves at least some grace given what the Lich King did to her.

Also, someone who plays a dwarf isnt in a position to be talking about what is and isnt badass.

Now you definitely don’t know what you’re yapping about. Dwarves are the badass fantasy race and I will hear no speak to the contrary.
