I went into my bags today and noticed that I didn’t have 2 of the Shards that I obtained the other day in there. Checked my bank and nothing. The only one I have is the one that is currently socketed into my shoulders in my bags. I know I had more than that one because I spent the embers to upgrade a couple of them a few times. Has anyone else noticed them disappearing? They are not in the item restoration tool either so I don’t know what is going on.

You could open a ticket on this, but if this was around Monday - it may be connected to an issue that produced a small rollback of the realms. Thankfully, that condition in WoW - is very rare.
A GM may be able to look into this further for you - but if that was the issue, likely nothing that we could do to assist. Certainly can’t hurt to ask.

I submitted a ticket a little bit ago. I noticed this yesterday actually but I don’t know when they actually disappeared. I just went and double checked it today to make absolute sure they weren’t hidden anywhere. And they don’t show up on the guild loot tab either so I don’t exactly know how to prove it other than my word on it.
The same happen to me, 2 of my shard at rank 3 just banish from my bags today when I log In

It does look like you created the tier three for Blood and Frost shards but you refunded those and received the Ominous Shards and the Stygian Ember cost.

Indeed I did all of that cause I get confused, I wanted from the beginning the Desolate Shard of Zed and the Desolate shard of Oth but I did a long way to get them :).
But that’s not my issue, the problem is that I lost the Desolate shard of Bek and the Desolate shard of Cor.
I even have log with those 2 shard socketed, I remove them for using the 3 unholy combo and they just disappear from my bags. I do realize only today in the evening.
I cannot put any links in this forum but the raid was yesterday night 10:44pm est Fatescribe Rob-Kalo and I’m using both missing shards

Did you remove the Shards with a Soulfire Chisel? I can see where you purchased one on the 9th, around 21:00 UTC. which is about 17 hours after you socketed the Desolate Shards of Bek and Cor. I only see the one though, and that is still in your inventory unused.
If you do not use the chisel to remove the Shards they are destroyed when you socket something else in that slot, just as with a Gem Slot.

I’m pretty sure I used the Soulfire Chisel, that’s why I bought it in the first place, I didn’t use it before because I only need to remove the Bek and Cor once I got the 3 socket gear in that day raid.
Is there any chance to verify that? I really don’t wanna lose those two rank 3 gems 
That I can’t say. I show that you had the Soulfire Chisel, but I don’t show that the Shards were added to your inventory after removing them from sockets or evidence of their removal, something that should have happened if you removed them. Perhaps a Game Master may find something that I didn’t, but anything they are able to do will be based on the logs that are available to them.
If it isn’t there, they won’t be able to do much to recover the shards.

I to have just had this happen to me where i use a chisel but have the gem totally vanish and not refunded, have put a ticket in inregards to this

Chances are since there are no warnings outside of the non tradable warning that you accidentally socketed over it without using the chisel.
If that’s the case you are pretty much done since their is no CS for items that are destroyed by failing to pay attention to what you are doing. (Or falling victim to an arguably horribly interfaced system, depending on your perspective.)
Of course file a ticket to see if that’s the case but if it is they won’t restore it.
I found out my issue. If you use the addon Pawn, it has the ability to hot swap the shards with one click. This however DOES NOT use the chisel and destroys the original shard like a gem. Be very careful.

The CS forum isn’t for any sort of feedback, let alone related to to this, as the blues here ain’t able to fix anything or mess with the game. If if you want to offer your idea to anything, best to do such in general.

This particular thread doesn’t seem to be about “feedback” but more about clarification that there are probably no “bugs” or that things didn’t just “vanish” but were caused by user error.
This is really absurd, IF this domination socket system is actually well thought you shouldn’t be able to to replace it by another shard, causing it to disappear. People will make mistakes and to lose it like that isn’t fun at all. Perhaps gm’s should take a look into this i’m sure there’ll be a better QoL system to help us in the future. Which you guys always do anyway frustrate the player first then introduce a QoL change.
GMs don’t design or change the game system. The Devs do. If you want it changes you would need to give feedback either in-game or in the General Discussion forum. The Devs don’t take feedback from the Customer Support forum and the SFAs here are not liaisons with them.

did you remove the shard in your helm using the chisel? shards work like regular gems, they destroy if you put another gem over it so you have to use the chisel to remove it first
