Looks like everyone has been heard as far as the 110’s blatantly having their exp turned on against their will. This is good. I think that just turning on exp automatically was just way to punishing, especially to players who didnt even exploit the expoff/on feature at lvl 110. Maybe make it so a level 110 who is in a group with anyone who even remotely has there exp turned on, while the lvl 110 exp is still turned off, gets exp. Not even from quests. That way, it wont punish anyone else who didn’t use it for power lvling purposes. Although im not sure about pvp, but i do feel its probably not being used for best of intentions in the lvl 110 pvp scene, although if wrath of the lich king has taught me anything, anything of that nature isnt really supported. I personnaly dont see the harm in overgearing the heck out of your toon to wreck face in pvp while pvping for life at a level of your choosing forever and ever as wow is a gear/skill based game, but it seems like that solution would work best as it seems that its about scaling tech and unintented powerlvling, 110s being stronger than anything at lvl 111 and beyond for some reason. Hopefully an actually fix comes soon, maybe making 110s hit like wet noodles to higher lvl creatures so its no longer worth it. to top off this whole discussion of twinking and unintended powerlvling, just thinking about way back when in vanilla wow, when blizzard implemented battlegrounds for the first time, someone is kicking themselves in the face for not adding exp to battlegrounds upon implementation. Twinking wouldn’t even exist otherwise, and all not adding exp to battlegrounds has added is another sect of fans, and a host of technical and balancing issues regarding what is fair and what isn’t fair etc, and who is 1 shotting who or not. With that said, good day everyone.
What it did was cause character boost sales to slip.
They don’t want power leveling in the game because people won’t buy their boosts.
Has nothing to do with fair.
If they were concerned with fair there would be no boosts.
Just like the trial class feature. That is there to entice you into buying a boost.
Nothing else.
Players interacting as a community and power leveling each other cuts into the bottom line.
wow what trash
I wish I could like your post more than once, I do think Blizzard is finally realizing they are in trouble. Heels has done a couple videos on surveys they have been sending out.
Why? For us who have been here since the beginning leveling prevents most of us from rerolling when you break a class. Let people power level, I would rather see that then someone buying their level from Blizzard.
If people enjoyed the game in its previous versions more, then each xpac should have its dedicated server. They are obviously doing it with Classic, why not all of the expansions that followed? Some one actually enjoyed WoD the most, a lot of players preferred WoTLK and there are those who were nuts about MoP.
They should hire a team solely for creating legacy servers that way they can leave current/live WoW alone. Make everything included with the base sub fee. Win win. I am sure millions of people would return for that.
I guess I’m surprised with all of Blizzard’s and the industry’s KPI’s that they haven’t determined it more beneficial to “let the hair down” so to speak, rather than nitpick things that might affect sales (in this case, character boosts).
I suppose people aren’t necessarily unsubbing because of something like this, but perhaps they will because of the constant optics of trying to maximize profit at the expense of any enjoyment, even when it doesn’t affect most people.
If twinking at this level is the fun players choose to have, removing it will just chase those players away.
Agree, would love this post a dozen times if I could. Spot bloody on.
Well, still do not realize the abusive twinks of new players in low pvp, I hope you also remember Separate them to give opportunity to new players , The great imbalance that increases every day by the errors of some items and absurd damages.
uhm heres a thought? Require level 111 for island expetions and bfa dungeons?
Gotta scrounge those character boosts for the quarterly earnings report somehow, huh Blizz? God forbid the community finds a way to provide a service for in-game gold. Can’t have that!
Why? THIS i do NOT understand. Let people play how they want to.
Resposting, my original message is the same as this, but it was removed and my account was banned with zero regard from the CMs on why.
Actually, why is this a problem? The gameplay needs f****** mega work done to it as a whole right now, stop wasting time by screwing over a small group of players when the rest of us are still waiting for class tuning and general improvements.
Thank you for taking the time to tackle this pressing issue facing the future of this game.
Personally, I blocked the xp of 7 of my main characters, only to relive the lower level content, because BfA is not interesting! I bought the extension only to not be disconnected in a loop because of the full account priority system (but that’s another debate). With the intention of blocking my xp for his characters from the beginning. If now you delete this right, it would mean that I bought your extension for nothing! I already regret …
I do not understand you anymore, you make bad decisions since BfA. It seems that the consequences, of the two main founders of Blizzard are gone, that a new team finds it interesting to delete everything that was invented in the past and that worked well.
But finally, the problem is only the scaling! This is what you need to work! And certainly not touch the blockage of the xp.
Just look at the low ping, the sales at the AH divided by 10, the temporarily merged servers and the promotions you have made in the store, to realize that the population has decreased considerably. I think that wanting to remove the blocking of xp is an excuse to force players to gather in the same content (BfA). You want to force players to play in uninteresting content. You can do better !
Perhaps you should reconsider your new teams. Because they have not done many thing good since BfA, even in the lore, they have become very disappointing. Make the right decisions, change the team before it’s too late!
I blame you, because at legion you had managed to straighten the game I thought that wow still had good years in front of him. The urge to connect was irresistible! And now I do not know what to think.
I do not wish to see your game disappear
In short, do not touch the block xp, thank you !
funny thing is there seems to be a market.
If people will give random strangers lots of gold…120 boost time?
Would get the usual rants…they are used to that I am sure. But enough would buy that 120 to sleep better at night at blizzard I am sure.
I won’t lie…a 1-120 boost would be appealing for 60. Not looking forward to another 110-120 grind. Rest meh…some nights I actually like my tour in northrend even. And don’t mind being there.
Yes, this focus on minutiae and outliers is bizarre indeed, given the multitude of real problems with this release.

I bolded the part of your post that really resonates here. It truly does seem like these devs want to destroy the legacy of their predecessors… their better predecessors, I might add.
This has resulted in turning WoW into some Diablo hybrid online casino instead of the MMORPG it formerly was. The game seems specifically designed to inculcate addictive behaviors and to exploit players with compulsive disorders.
I play on multiple servers. What you are hypothesizing doesn’t agree with my observations.
When I play on this server, I rarely see another player. In Argus I am always logging off to play another character while I wait for my lightforged warframe to come off cooldown.
On other servers I see many players. I rarely have to pop my warframe. Like, it is not uncommon to see a dozen players at most of the elites I kill there. Given that I will do at least 12 elite quests and also kill other elites when I am there, that’s a lot of players I’m seeing.
And when I say “a dozen”, I arrive when the boss is just dead and there’s a dozen leaving. When we kill him and leave, there’s another shift coming in.
