Disabling XP Gains on 110+ Characters

I actually enjoy Arathi, when I’m in the mood to do it (and when I’m not in a group full of complainers/AFKers). Darkshore is a gloomy slog with poorly-marked objectives. Which is to say, yes, you’re right: even to someone who ENJOYS the content, Darkshore is less fun.

If I were Ythisens, I would honestly be embarrassed to be speaking for this company as the community leader.

this. sure he isnt the one doing anything wrong but he’s the butt of a company taking massive sh*ts every 20 minutes and blizzard isnt wiping

BUT YOU CAN RIDE A BAT BOMBER FOR LIKE TEN WHOLE SECONDS!

I’m glad you guys thought better about it. It doesn’t affect me either way as far as utilizing the advantage. It’s mass changes like this that affect everyone, while people are still botting and using other cheats and getting by with it, that cause a lot of the dissension in the community and drive people away. I don’t bot, or cheat, or exploit, or any of that nonsense. Why are the changes made to the game to supposedly curtail these exploiters also affecting what my choices are in the game the same as for those who do it?

The only toons I have that are level-locked are that way because they are bank alts or just there to play as a starter addition when I let my account expire due to some other random “punish-the-masses-so-we-can-avoid-the-work-and-capitol-loss-of-getting-the-actual-offenders” hot-fix.

The way you prevent some of the exploits (like the way you removed the random sproutling thing in the garrison herb gardens for everybody because you found some people that were abusing it) is kind of like making all of your kids sit in the corner because one of them said a bad word. Not really a good incentive for the ones who don’t do the wrong thing to continue trying to be good. Think about it.

Blizzard needs to man up or person up for you non binary people and turn xp on already. To few actually benefit from keeping it off. Change my mind.

You get iron so incredibly slowly in Darkshore since most of it is from mechanical enemies. Wood is in abundance from bundles in the zone and the tree of eternity wood generation is super fast. I use wood to upgrade all the weapons and armor but I hold onto my iron like scrooge for when glaives are available. Even then it’s a wait because some people don’t even loot or turn in resources. At least in Arathi I can run the mines and grab up carts but the wood generation is slow due to the trees taking a while to respawn.

Ahh, possibly the difference is that I’m not actually grinding them FOR anything; the drop rate is so abysmal I resigned myself early in the expansion that I was not running islands for rewards. Most of the time, I don’t even get doubloons. So most of the time, I really do just run them for enjoyment, and then when I’m not having fun punching things anymore, I stop.

I stop a lot faster now that there’s a mechanic to be overrun by an entire herd of azerite elementals with endless absorb shields and the ability to bounce me all over the bloody island.

Riddle me this first? What’s wrong with benefitting a few people?

The only content I even see 110-119 twinks being a potential issue is in battlegrounds, outside of that I think it should be left how it is now.

No one gets hurt by a 110 carrying a dungeon or Island, except maybe the feelings of a 120 that gets out damaged by them.

Scaling is stupid and you know what they say, you can’t fix stupid.

I actually enjoy running them on my 110 just to run them, but if you stick me on my 120 I start feeling tired just from trying to get my weekly done.

If the feature wasn’t being used as blizzard intended they need to stop pretending that it’s all of a sudden ok. Just do it already. Turn it on and be done with this .

I just realized something. If Arathi has slow wood generation and Darkshore has slow iron generation then the next warfront will have BOTH slow wood and iron generation so each match will take like a hour.

Also, is it just me or is Arathi better for gearing your new alts than Darkshore. In Arathi I usually fill out all my equipment slots bar trinkets and rings before I start getting dupes. In Darkshore I keep getting dupes.

What I am reading here is that over a week into a patch that hands out 370s, you’re still unable to do something because you haven’t put forth effort to gear, and thus other players should be dragged down with you?

You didn’t state a problem.

They are searching for the wrong cure I agree

Read the op statement.

so many things that need fixing and you guys fix this…

I did. They also retracted their decision. I’m asking you.

Only to pretend to think about it. To let people enjoy their last moments of exploitation. It’s coming. Watch and see

I apologize, I do not really know what you are trying to say?

I can do islands just fine on my 120s, I just find it to be an extreme slog. When I do them on my 110 they are fun, I do not sell carries.

The point I was making in the post you referenced is that even if they stop 110s from selling island carries people are still going to be doing it at 120.

Blizzard has taken issue with people getting boosted through Islands and Dungeons and the ‘solution’ of removing 110 carriers from that does not also remove the ability for someone to get a carry, the ‘problem’ is still there.
