I also locked multiple characters so I could keep playing Legion at level. Now I won’t play those toons anymore. There goes 80% of my playtime and one less reason to log on.
Buttercleave is a great username.
Just throwing that out there.
Given the choice, I’d much prefer the ability to experience the Argus content at an appropriate level than the BFA content at an appropriate level. The BFA content can be experienced perfectly well at 120 anyway.
Maybe they should have fixed their PVE level scaling so that didn’t happen. I suspect the leveling sellers will just move to random battlegrounds or something, which will have a much bigger negative impact on active players.
I have 3 Azerite Longstriders, the leggo belt and boots and +speed gear. I usually just herb farm … at high speeds but when i queue into a dungeon for kicks, i am usually very appreciated.
Pardon me if this has been mentioned - I don’t mean to hound you, Yth!
This change seems obtuse and opposite some recent changes. Changes geared laser-specifically at minimizing the time to level a character. Add in the 30% war mode buff and the newly added 10% increased experience elixir/buff, and - it seems to me - that the paradigm of wow leveling is to expedite the process.
Why then would this action, which you state would remove the ability to power level the last level bracket, be a bad thing?
Not trying to be dense.
The irony here is they kind of created this problem with scaling.
People will always try to “game the system” when it comes to leveling…because quite frankly, it isn’t fun (beyond first time).
If it’s not 110 twinks it will soon be 120 Mythic geared players offering to do the same.
Given there are no heirlooms yet or flight, IE’s are still the most “efficient” way to cap (i.e. the fastest). Warmode (30% alliance) + xp potion + invasion buff, may actually be competitive, if not better…but xp potion works in IE’s and invasions buff does as well and is unreliable.
We as in those that share your opinion. I’d prefer leveling to be even slower.
No as in everyone when asked about scaling said yes , if optional .
Slower? Hell NO.
Well that escalated quickly.
This change is dumb.
Slower

What POSSIBLE reason would you want for dragging out 120 levels even further?
Oh and before you say “immersion or story”, dont.
Seen it all done it all.
I think it’s because this change has more to do with the perception that playing at 110 is still more fun than playing at 120. They never seemed to mind the exact same thing with 101 twinks for some reason.
Just a reminder for those of you who haven’t read all of the thread.
I currently have 3 level 110 twinks. I have NEVER sold a carry service with any of them.
I run them through Antorus and Tomb of Sargeras every Friday night with my guild.
I use these twinks to keep Island Expedition farming fresh. As i do not sell carries this is completely harmless. I might do 5 expeditions on my main 120 Hunter, get bored of being a hunter, then swap over to my Warrior. After 5 more i’ll jump on my mage. Wouldn’t you be happy people are at least participating in the islands?! They have been pretty poorly received by players in general.
Being able to jump on a few twinks when I’m bored of my main is what made it possible for me to do well over 600 islands to get my achievement [I’m here for the pets].
Trying to maintain 4 characters at level 120 with 380+ gear is not viable for me as a full time worker. Maintaining a few 110 twinks with Mythic Antorus gear is far more viable for my spare time.
This type of twinking is not hurting anyone - I’m not PvPing with it or selling any kind of service. Just keeping the game fresh for myself so I don’t burn out.
It is just depressing that I have found a way to enjoy something in BFA, spent the time getting gear to enjoy it, and then enjoyed it.
Now you want to take that away and make us go back to grinding Islands at 120, if you make it so 110 twinks can’t do islands then I just won’t be doing islands at all anymore, they are not fun at 120.
Why not just add a solo queue for islands with exp off, this way it is still fun, still gives end of island rewards, and stops this ‘demonic power leveling’ you suddenly decided was an issue.
For what reason and to accomplish what?
Yes we know.
What I want to know is why this is an issue now.
Maybe y’all can also rethink that horrible decision where you buffed WM for the Alliance by 20%. All they do now is camp the FP’s and Warfront Incursions in raid groups. The buff fails to address the real reason as to why they are too afraid to WM in general. I can say this as someone who plays both sides.
100%
Wow is becoming a police state. “Quick! We found people having fun. Stop them!”
Why does it matter if I want to power level on islands?
Doesn’t hurt other players
Doesn’t give me any unfair advantage
Doesn’t stop me from leveling through quests if I want
Why can’t Blizzard’s response just be “Oh that’s neat. Looks like fun.”
EVERYTHING is policed now.
Leveling is more fun than endgame.
Also immersion and story.
See it all do it all more.
