This is the most unfair broken thing I’ve ever seen Blizzard do in the entire time they have existed.
I had to go to a funeral over the weekend, and missed out on the free exp loot pinata.
Now, the incursions are camped 24/7 by alliance max level players.
Is it my fault for picking a pvp server to begin with? No, this wasn’t in the game when I picked it.
Should I try to layer? Yeah I’ve tried it 20 times. This is not a solution, since you cannot pick layers directly, and if you find a good layer, you usually get kicked off due to low population.
It’s simple Blizzard. Disable PVP or I disable my $14.99 cash to your company for the rest of time.
It’s even worse when you realize that one faction can easily shut the entire other faction down just by camping the questgiver.
If nobody on the other faction can pick up quests, they won’t go into the Emerald Nightmare in the first place. You can gatekeep the entire zone from one spot.
It’s also gotten to the point that level 50s are camping the level 25 and 40 questgivers all day out of pure spite.
No it isn’t. Some people feel forced to play on pvp servers because thats where the players are in their region of the world. In Aus if we want to play on a pve server, we are forced to choose between playing with others with bad ping (playing on a NA server) or playing with no one but but with good ping (our local pve server). If you want to play with others and have good ping, there is only one server for us to choose which is the pvp one.
I said people feel forced, not that they are physically forced. Would you rather play on a server located on the other side of the world with bad ping, plenty of players but they aren’t active during your peak times which means if you want to raid it will be at 7 am… or would you prefer to play on a dead server with no players but good ping? Those are the choices you have if you are from oce and want to play pve.
If you didn’t like your options, I dont blame you, I don’t either. There is a third “choice” that people feel forced into - you can play with good ping and a good population but its a pvp server.
I am glad it worked for you! I wish it would work for me too. I tried playing on Penance but couldn’t find others wanting to do group content. I would like to raid in the evening for me in Aus which means I can’t play on a US server. This leaves me no other choice than to play on Shadowstrike which makes me not want to login
I was on Remulos for a good chunk of time. Overall, it was pretty chill, and there were some guilds that did operate at times convenient for me. Blizzard ended up adding Oceanic servers to the US server battleground pool again, which worked beautifully for me, as I live in the US.
Regardless, I hope you manage to find a solution that works best for you!
Faction unbalance only gets worse too, alliance on my server grinding their honor set out at a fast rate while horde struggle hard to level. I know incursions weren’t made to be the streamline leveling that it is but it is still the preferred way for most.
It’s obvious the majority don’t like the grind. They want fast efficient leveling. It is so frustrating when the whole other faction is ganking and you are just trying to level to play the good content.
So disappointing please blizzard give us a Zandalary Ward type thing for incursions. Make players PvP the normal way. The level 50s grinding honor this way is no different to the way people were grinding Exp at the beginning of the phase and you changed that.
So you’re essentially using incursions to skip leveling. It’s a high risk, high reward scenario on a PvP server.
Feral druids and rogues can farm some 8-10k honor an hour and larger groups can just mow everything down in sight for decent honor gains. It’s not the best, but mindless and better than solo queuing - just like you’re mindlessly leveling to get to 50 quick. There’s no incentive to do BGs because AB/WSG rep is handed to you for minimal effort.
SoD has become a do minimal work and reap great rewards game.
Blizzard could implement measures to prevent grieving or make it not feel as bad to be grieved in high player areas. Or prevent it all together. And for the love of God, we all know PVP happens on a PVP server. Literally everyone on a PVP server knows and accepts this fact… However, when you can’t play the game, it’s poor design.
While personally, I think that we probably will see the devs add some guards to the quest-giver area, I’m a little split on whether they should. I could go either way, but you do have options on a PVP server:
