I think it'd just take more of a straight balance and for some specific traits just redesign and it wouldn't be bad. The gearing system is the true joke imo

Because of this just disable the whole trait system in pvp and make it fair for everyone, ppl have been grinding for weeks to get bis traits but they are not lucky enough .. remove traits and balance core abilities through buff/nerfs
Over 1k rated games and I found only one piece with the traits I need. Thanks Blizzard for making my life miserable.

How would it make pvp boring? All traits are basically passively increasing your damage, just balance classes after removing traits and it'll be fine.

Yes, this isn't a fighter game. You should prep properly to be good.
Gonna be honest though I do think a lot of players PvP in high hopes of getting some goofy azerite traits so they can mondo combo people with gimmicky 1 shots. It doesn't add the kind of flavor to PvP that I'm looking for but it definitely adds flavor, especially for more average players (i.e. 1500-1800 rated that aren't constantly trying to push rating) that might to play but not on quite a competitive and complex level (i.e. think Swifty one-shot type fans).
Easy solution to me is just making stacked traits have diminishing value in PvP. Each successive stack lowers DRs the effect by enough of a %, something like 25-35%, that it's not worth stacking. It doesn't really feel like outside of stacking traits azerite is a huge problem yet.

Yeah that'd be fine too. Legion's stat template was a great idea, it was done poorly making pvp gear sooo low compared to raid gear. Cata had a good system with the vendors etc but again bad because of the Heroic(mythic of older raids basically). MoP imo had the best one due to resil and pvp power essentially disabling the mythic raid trinkets weps etc and it had vendors so you could get the bis stuff w.o rng which matters cause pvp is a competitive platform not a casual arcade game tho blizzard treats it that way
I like azerite traits, we just need better ways to target specific pieces

Praised it how? Azerite in theory is a great addition. However like myself and many others that Beta tested it. "Blizzard didn't Listen"
BFA is better than Legion just on the fact you can choose stats, trinkets, gear and build your own character but of course they rushed this expansion. They said sorry we can't finish class design til 8.1 in an official apology. Which is unacceptable.
I said from the get go this expansion has a lot of potential but when they don't use Beta and let exploits and gimmicks go live that is their fault for poor resource management and making a potential decent product unpolished.
There is zero wrong with Azerite what is wrong is the lack of Devs working on WoW to give great class design and actually listen to people that Beta tested and or play the game.
So now we wait for 8.1 when hopefully we are out of Beta and get finished class design on several specs. However it was a huge mistep by them and extremely poor planning. In the end though they won they made money.
I play casually and enjoy doing my random BGs and a few Que sessions here and there. This game doesn't have enough Devs working on it to play seriously and that is the real problem.
Azerite traits arent the problem. There isnt ONE single azerite trait thats the issue.
It is the stacking of certain traits that makes them busted.
Simply remove triple stacking or implement severe DR's for it.
2300 extra damage on a pistol shot isnt that scary, 7000 damage is.
550 extra mastery after a fireblast is a nice little perk, 1600 mastery is busted.
2300 hp/sec during ghost wolf is nice to have, 7000hp/sec healing is unkillable.

That has been blizzard's problem this expac and in legion (with legendaries and tier), they design specs around the set bonuses/items they will get when they SHOULD be designing it the other way around. Like they had been in the past.
Set bonuses and traits should always compliment your spec, not act like the missing piece that makes it function properly.

Then those need to be looked at as well... Triple stacking traits is what is currently breaking pvp.

Wait till 8.1 hits and there's new traits that are introduced to make classes broken for weeks until it's fixed.
