Disable all player Transmog toggle when?

This is such a bizarre thread.

People already perceive you differently than you perceive yourself, because everyone has their own perceptions. That’s a universal truth. Do people really not know that?

Not for much longer. We are in what cataclysm now? Wasn’t transmog MoP xD.

Transmog says more about a player than the crappy catchup gear they are wearing will ever say. Oh, so, I see you only got dreamsurge gear and a few random 441s. Oh ho ho, that’s rich. Not.

I went and one-shotted old raid bosses so I could look this way. Bask in it and stop trying to be a creep judging me for how I play.

Oh and cata classic is gonna be the classic I actually play. Because everything prior to that was scrounging for scraps because “I wasn’t social enough.” Cata is where I hit my stride doing queues for purples and I will gladly relive that again!

If the OP’s logic is being able to see what others have completed at a glance, he’s forgetting one thing that throws this whole thing out the window.

On this char I’m wearing a couple pieces from the normal mode Aberrus Druid tier set. Been wearing it now since probably 8.1.5 went live. So by OP’s logic, he should be able to look at me and go “okay that guy completed normal Abberus, or at least partially completed it”, but he’d be wrong. I’ve never set foot in any current tier raid above LFR level, and if he’d look at my raid history he’d actually see that I never even touched Abberus at all on this char, not even LFR. But because I got certain weekly open world things done, I took those rewards and ran them through the Revival Catalyst, giving me pieces from the tier set. So even if his hypothetical toggle to disable someone else’s transmog were a thing, he still wouldn’t see an accurate representation of what I’ve completed because the Revival Catalyst is a thing.

Now regarding his apparent desire to tell what others have completed at a glance, as it were; to quote our Kul Tiran friends, you mind your business, and I’ll mind mine.

Oh and yeah, as others have stated, Classic is over there. :point_right:

I don’t think anyone cares what others have completed. I think OP just wants to see the actual gear people are wearing…

In pvp it helps a lot for choosing targets and increases the depth of the play.

OP is asking for something that is user-selected and only impacts their view, I am a bit confused as to why so many people are opposed to them being able to enjoy the game in a really reasonable way. What is gained by preventing people that want such a feature from having it?

It’s actually his whole motivation for this thread.

i would suggest it be a toy item. a photo bomb option that
“temporarily disables visual enchantments to reveal its true form.”

have it last like 60 seconds or whatever short duration, but everyone can see the change hit by the effective range of the item.

you could even raise the effect to 10 mins but if it goes up to 10 mins players need to be able to right click the dispel effect.

also sell a item that can negate the effect of the armor mog dispel. a consumable with a 1 hour effect so RPs cant be trolled by it.

I’ve been suggesting a toggle mog on/off since transmogging was announced and the first people started complaining about not being able to see players’ real gear, or it’s immersion breaking (usually the holiday stuff)

I am all for a toggle on/off along with opening up mogging to whatever you’ve/your account has collected… which means - if the tank wants to wear a dress and bunny ears, while wielding a 20 pound fish, I say, “Go for it!”, but also have a toggle option for those that don’t want to see the bunny tank fish-slapping the boss.

hmm… i can technically do that now… with no mog. and while the ilvl might be trash, i accidently did a M+ run with all gear broken so, i imagine its not any harder than that. :dracthyr_hehe:

Like… classic?

They have that now you know. Feel free to go do that.

Conversely you’re asking them to go out of their way to implement an immersion feature that would only affect like 6 people that play this game.

Not going to happen bud.

Yes, I don’t care how they can enjoy the game.

They gave you all classic for a REASON, keep it there.

I am pretty sure you’re the same person as the OP. I see no one else supporting such a strange idea.

Haha I’m not but I think its a good idea, and with my classic-only brain, think it would be healthy for retail gameplay.

I even tried to recruit people from a classic thread to come

He was disappointed I called him a retailer and I feel a bit bad about it

Sorry, Jugheadwing said no.

You don’t get to decide how you see me, I do!

It’s not happening.

What you are asking for doesn’t exist, I don’t know a single game or player base that wants to view peoples armor as is without whatever cosmetic system they have as some weird idea about tmoging.

If I put work into my outfit you’re GOING to see me in it. If you like it or not.

If that bothers you, there is classic. Where there is no such feature either but without transmog (the actual feature) being there players have no other option but to less like a mess of pixles.

Yall have come very far with asking for classic as a whole and you need to be happy with it and stay away from us.

I am very happy with classic Era - but as I mention in the other thread, on rare occasions I enjoy trolling the retail forums.

I personally think tmog is overall horrible for a game and it is much better to have wear their RP set when they want and wear their battle armor when it is time to fight. But that’s just my view and one of many reasons why I don’t play retail

It’s been years since I played EQ2, but from what I remember when I played it, their “transmogging” worked like an additional armor page. instead of applying the appearance directly to your armor, you put it on that page. Anything on that page overrode the armor page. Players had a choice in their own options to see others “transmogs” or not.

I am very happy you don’t. The mindset you have is what holds games back for years and years on cosmetics and things that make games fun. I am convinced you people would adore a literal pixel for a mount if it come from something you felt made it rare.

There is no taste or creativity. And I am so DEEPLY happy they won’t listen to people like you and we’ll only keep moving forward. Where we belong.
