Disable all player Transmog toggle when?

Good suggestion! 100% support!

Thats not what hes proposing. He wants to turn off Transmogs on a per player basis with a toggle.

Classic is that way. :arrow_right:

or just don’t transmog.

Cool. I appreciate that. Thanks.

The OP just wants to see us all looking like this

You guys are so weird lol. Actually massed flagged this as “trolling” and blizzard had to restore it.

This was always such an odd argument to me. In order for me to wear high level colouration of set gear i have to have completed an equivalent level of content either through M+ or Raid. I can’t just wander into a +2 and get a full set of Mythic appearance

But…

if people can’t see our transmogs whats the point of having them? You must STAREEEEEE or suffer.

i say put in toggle to replace everyones shoes with converse.

Seems like a pointless feature, for me anyway. But whatever floats your boat. I mean, it doesn’t matter to me what’s on your screen.

In Albion Online, this setting option makes sense since what a player has equipped directly dictates what abilities they have access to… but in WoW, gear is not our “class”. You do not need to see someone’s gear to know what toolkit they are working with when it really comes down to it. I also usually use health pools as a quick way to guess how high or low a players ilvl is, or “what content people made it up to”, compared to myself.
Transmog is a form of expression, and I don’t see any good reason why they should be able to be disabled. So yeah, I’d say it is a pointless and unnecessary feature… but to each their own.

Blizz is likely not to have you forcibly redress others. But if you’re looking to know just what others progress is then the best thing is to have raider io installed to see raid progress and number of keys/highest key run/prior season+tier for someone on mouse over. And an addon to see ilvl of person on mouseover. Numbers are far more objective than trying to remember all 13 tier sets plus 6 colorations (4 for raid and two for pvp) of each for each season of dragonflight and onwards.

I wonder how much bandwidth that would add, with the server getting two sets of gear IDs to pass to every client instead of just one. Might not be even noticeable, but would be interesting to me to know the differences between one option or the other.

I support this. We should get a customizer that lets us toggle a lot of features.

I’d toggle vulperas to appear as goblins and pandarens to appear as KT for Alliance and Tauren for Horde.

And then I’d like a toggle for all the ridiculous mounts we have.

That alone would make the game 100x less of an eye roll to play (for me).

Edit:
Also, reading the responses you got… holy… the absolute lack of reading comprehension from people… kind of terrifying. People saying you’re trying to redress them… wth man lol.

You can still see that. A lot of players use higher end tmogs for sets.
My dk, I have the gorehowl model from the mega dungeon, heroic sanctum pieces.
My war uses mage tower mace/hidden artifact shield. Granted that stuff is older, it’s still a ‘I did that hard thing’.

But yea, as others have said, it would be harder now since a lot of the sets blend together other than color.
Items aren’t as obvious as the whirlwind axe these days.

I’m still not opposed to the idea. I think it would be interesting.

Yeah no waste of dev time and absolutely pointless.

When we can go an entire day without topics ending in “when?”

In other words, never.

I don’t think the game could handle that as they would effectively have to show each character gear and transmog at the same time.

Terrible, terrible suggestion. One of the main points of transmog is so that you can show off your creation to others. Thus your “this wouldn’t affect anyone” argument is wrong.

If people know that others can’t see your character like it was designed to look, and instead see a random amalgamation of unfitting gear, there would be no point on doing it anymore.

This… it’s a pretty odd want or request. I don’t see a need for a toggle.
