The Blizzard way. Act like giant a-holes first, then backtrack when they get lit up from every direction.
This is ridiculous I’m seriously considering just quitting WoW. The sheer lack of respect with that post is telling. A simple solution would be to just give everyone 500 Echoes for the F up. SIMPLE. S-I-M-P-L-E.
IDC other people might somehow through this loophole get some extra. I DONT CARE WHAT OTHER PEOPLE DO. Just give everyone across the board something for the mess up THEY created.
Normally i wouldn’t agree, but this is a horrible Screw up. They designed the system, They KNEW this would happen, and they never mentioned it until an hour later. This is uncalled for.
The fun part is that the message stating they can’t/won’t refund the echoes is on the page you get to when trying to open a ticket lol, 100% reactionary.
Echoes are a catch up mechanic for alts, you should not need them on mains who have essences unlocked. The only way you would get echoes of nyalotha on a main is if you had an essence unlocked on an alt that your main did not have for some reason. I don’t understand how this is complicated to some people.
My alt here has two essences my main has.
My main got the currency, my alt did not.
Yep, I logged into the game…didn’t get any echoes out of my weekly PVP chest. Apparently Blizz has decided which toon is my main. I had rank 3 essences on the toon I logged into also. I don’t understand why they just don’t give the currency…why do you have to log into a toon that is supposed to be your main first? Now I have two toons that are out 175 echoes a pieces. Dumb way to run the system.
granted they are for alts it is a soulbound currency that you get from any activity,i dont need them on a main, but you would think regardless if i need essence if i complete a 10 and my alt does a 10 both toons should get currency
You have already stated you did not log onto your main before hand. That is a separate issue than the person I responded to, which you did the same thing in the last thread.
And you stated that you had to log into a character that had essences that your main did not have.
My main has both of the essences my alt has. Therefore, she should not have gotten any.
Yet she did. She got 200. I’m out over 300.
They could, you know, just spot everyone 500 echoes to jump start the system, and that way those that got short changed will have something, at least.
But nah, that’s too practical and obvious of a solution, so of course Blizz wouldn’t do it.
/moo
The person I responded to, who was not you, for the second time. Stated they didn’t get any on their main, which they should not, as they did not have essences on their alts. They then logged onto their alts and got essences. That’s why I did not respond to you, I responded to someone else. I know you are aggravated that you lost essences by not knowing it. However, other people are seeing these threads and not understanding that they can not get r3 essences without first having them unlocked on a main. That is who I am addressing, not you.
Makes zero sense. In the past they would have easily fixed this by doing a blanket fix. To me it’s personal, they don’t want to do what’s right, and what they KNOW if right because they HATE that players don’t like their system they designed and that it needed fixing. All comes down to ego. If this was ANYTHING else it would’ve been fixed 10 mins after.
I don’t think they have a list of every account’s “mains”. I have two characters on 450 ilvl and this one is 452 ilvl, all three of them has rank three essences, so which one is my main?
It’s not that player should log on to their main and then login to their alt, the correct fix is to just login and logout because from what I’ve read, everyone didn’t get the currency on the first character they login to.
Sad thing that wasn’t Blizzard.
Blizzard died.
They’re Activision Blizzard now.
Which, yes, means jerks.
They said (after people had already not done so because they didn’t tell us about it before-hand) that you have to log into a character with the rank 3 essence you want to “prime” the system. Then you log into the character you want the essences on. The problem is that they didn’t tell anyone about it and are now punishing us for it. They literally replied “sorry :(” to someone about it on twitter. Terrible customer service, and I am cancelling my sub to the game if it is not rectified, which they already said they won’t be doing, but now that they big players are also complaining, that’s usually how Activision and Blizzard base their decisions on changes. Maybe it’ll happen.
100% truth
this was posted on twitter before on the bnet app, what a joke

Because why would they? They didn’t want to implement this system. They wanted it to be this way. I’m convinced of it.
Absolutely. They said before they weren’t going to do it. Now they are doing it? Makes me think we will get an AP grind in Shadowlands, even though they said we won’t…
