Didn't get loot I won roll on (Anniversary Classic)

Last night I did a SM Cathedral run on this character. The Triune Amulet dropped and I was the only person who rolled need on it. The hunter in our group logged off inside the dungeon without rolling on the loot which caused the loot timer to have to timeout before the loot was distributed. I had already ran outside the dungeon by this point and didn’t realize this happened until after I had run out. The item was not mailed to me and I am unable to retrieve this item through the item restoration process. Is there any way I can have this item restored to my character?

You could put in a ticket and ask, Hazathal - but I’m honestly not sure how much we can intervene.

Doesn’t hurt to ask. The approx time, exact dungeon and exact boss/loot name would be very helpful to the GM.

I did. They said “most likely another player won the roll” which was not the case. I was outside the dungeon when the loot was pushed BECAUSE the hunter in our group went afk and logged out inside the dungeon. I didn’t know this until I was out of the dungeon and didn’t expect the loot to take the entire timeout to push. I was the only person that rolled need on this item. I even did /loot to show the rolls that shows I rolled need and everyone else rolled greed. The hunters showed – beside their name.

Their hands do appear to be tied, unfortunately.

There is no Personal Loot in WoW Classic. You must loot corpses yourself. If you skip a loot it will not be sent to your mailbox. Customer Support doesn’t assist with recovering skipped loot.

WoW Classic and Cataclysm Classic

Unlooted items in WoW Classic and Cataclysm Classic are not sent to your mailbox. Items that aren’t looted will remain on the corpse until it despawns. Customer Support does not recover unlooted items.

Sorry but I don’t think them being able to see that I won the roll and didn’t get the loot is beyond their ability.

It isn’t necessarily anything to do with ability, but mostly about permission. If the developers don’t set a policy that allows them to do this, they will be unable to intervene if they wish to keep their employment.

Granted, the developers would also be the ones that create their tools in order to give them the ability, but would still require that policy.

Another player decides to AFK and then logout inside the dungeon, forcing the loot to fully timeout before being pushed, and I have to be punished for it? No. I won the roll and this item can be restored to me.

Seems like they can not restore a item that you never had. Like others said even if you won the item unless you loot the item your out of luck.

I won the roll. I didn’t get the loot. I don’t care about technicalities. I’m not going to run this dungeon again for an item I should already have because another player decided to logout inside the dungeon.

Simply put; you’re not going to get it, regardless of how much you feel entitled to it. If the GMs said they can’t help with this, then that’d be the end of the story. The forums won’t make this happen, nor posting about how you feel like you won it.

It’s simply not doable. You’d have to rerun the dungeon.

Having a temper tandrum will not change things. They said they can not help, posting here wont change that

Not having a temper tandrum. I’m just saying what happened. There is no reason at all why this item cannot be restored to me.

I am going to get it.
I am entitled to it. I won the roll.

Good luck to you

Unless you run it again i do not see that happening

The reason at all is they have clearly documented rules preventing their intervention in the matter.

This game has been out for 20 years and a situation like this still is a problem in it? No. That is unacceptable. There is no reason this should still be a thing no matter the version of the game. If you win a roll the item should be sent to your character regardless of where you are, or even if you are logged in or not. In my case ANOTHER PLAYER chose to go afk inside the dungeon and then logout in there causing me to lose out on loot. How is this in any way my fault? Because I didn’t waste my time sitting inside the dungeon because another player went afk? This is not my fault. I should have this item in my inventory.

If this was retail you would have the item. Your playing classic and it has the same limitations it did when it was the main version of the game.

Well, it’s not really a problem in retail… but you decided to play the 20 year old version of WoW?

Not a single person has claimed otherwise. But as has been pointed out, you’re playing the version of the game that has the heavily-chanted “no changes” mantra with it.
