Did You Know About The No Changes?

Did you know before starting up there was this massive talk of preserving patch 1.12 and that no quality of life or balance changes would ever be made to the client?

I had a buddy tell me it was coming out, I just got on battle.net and re-subbed. 60 days later I’m done.

Would you have started playing had you know there was the #nochanges movement?

I think pretty much anyone posting here knew about it. And for the most part, the movement got what it wanted. There’s a few big changes that were unfortunately necessary.

I was part of nochanges movement. Playing every day since I quit in WoD.

Try again, troll.

I joined particularly because Blizzard implied there would not be changes. I don’t want the devs at Blizzard meddling in the game. If I wanted to play what the hotdog devs cook up I would just play the current game, which I intensely dislike.

I knew about the no changes movement before i started playing. I expected this game to basically be a museum piece. I just want to play level 60 battle grounds again. I knew that the game wasn’t perfectly balanced but that i would have fun with it anyway.
They definitely need to change feign death to work like it did in vanilla though.

Blizzard said at blizzcon they wanted to make an authentic vanilla wow recreation. Every interview reinforced that.

They said someone from 06 should be able to wake up from coma and not see much difference.
They called it a museum piece.

What did you think was going to happen?

Yes i knew about it and I’m still having a blast. The sense of community, if you open yourself up a little to the right guild or group, massively stands as a glowing positive over any of the short comings of the dated mechanics of the game.

If you genuinely didn’t know about #nochanges you might also not know about the six phase release for content that will continue to bring, well, changes.

I think you’re full of it. If Blizzard had level 60 capped content with all current quality of life additions Classic would fall on it’s face. People like the old content but they don’t necessarily want to solo it. They want the groups to go with. People want arena and dungeon finders. People want barber shops. The only problem with retail is that you can level to f’n 120 and walk through the old dungeons solo… and fly.

Some people want those. Not all of them, and what was asked for was vanilla. Not remastered vanilla. Not vanilla retail hybrid. Vanilla.
And no, retail has more problems then that.

Yes I knew about it because I’m not a moron. There was quite a bit of information out the past year talking about classic.

Aside from sharding, dungeon finder is one of the worse things they added to the game… Flat out destroying the need to talk, at least a little, to get to know who your about to adventure with (which for some dungeons can include just communicating to overcome the challenge of getting everyone inside)… See my previous post about community.

If you’re trying to play classic solo then you’re missing one of the best parts of classic (community)

Crazy how everyone good at the game thinks classic is great and all these nobodies on the forums think every insignificant little thing has ruined it.

And people need to stop acting like they’re the voice of everyone. It drives me up the wall that people think that their needs are the same or will be “beneficial” for everyone else. You don’t know me. You don’t know my thoughts. You don’t speak, for me. Speak for yourself and only yourself.

And while I’m speaking for myself, I am a Soloer. I don’t mind soloing the Game. I have zero issues with that. I don’t PvP, so Arenas are not for me, nor do I crave them. No need for Dungeon Finder, when you can get to 60 without it. No need for Barber Shop because I actually put thought into the look of what I want for my Character ('cause I actually RP with my Characters, the one part about this game that a lot of people forget about). Or didn’t level so quickly to not notice that I’m not digging the look.

In Retail, you can turn off your XP. I’ve turned off my XP plenty of times at 60. And you can still solo some dungeons in Classic, so this argument makes no sense. You can fly with the use of FPs, in both games. I don’t understand your point.

No it wouldn’t, the class design of retail is truly different than the class design of Classic/Vanilla. Even with those changes on retail, people would still be reluctant to play from how different the 2 play styles are. It’s like night and day. One is spec design while the other is true class design. Retail feels limited while Classic feels whole. The only people wanting to solo content are the retail players. Classic/Vanilla has always been about community. Hell, you’re even forced to do it in the very beginning of your leveling experience. The only people wanting retail changes are people that hate cumbersome things and want things easy like a hand holding experience.

And honestly, good for the people that want to group up! It is an MMO, after all. I really don’t understand your logic here.

Trying to decide if i like your name or your pick beard more, haha…

I am not sure what “good at the game” really means, though. Is somebody who rushes through a well prepared dinner really a gourmet?

The endgame really isn’t the point with Classic. From some people’s point of view having a level 60 at this point is a sign of failure.

I personally am not that “good” at the game. I’m just here to have fun in a virtual world.

This is the funniest thing ive seen on these forums…
