Won’t watch it, absolute disgrace and changes tolkeins lore, insults the creator of the story and has absolute hacks for writers.
Another treasured franchise butchered. I’ll watch LOTR extended cuts on repeat for the next 10,000 years before viewing that garbage. Modern entertainment is so void of heart or soul.

House of the Dragon is better, and I actually read the Silmarillion.
Watched both episodes. I really wanted to like it. So far, im not a fan. It looks pretty, the scenery is nice. The most important element in any story for me is character, and the development of it. This story lacks that so far. i don’t care about any of them–their motivations either dont work, or are unexplained entirely.
In other words, so far its a lot of plot and exposition without any soul.
Pretty much don’t care for anyone except Galadriel, and I guess Elrond to a minor extent. The rest don’t seem compelling and mysterious sky man is still mysterious lol.
As did I, which is why seeing this play out the way it is, is even more garbage.
Unless if I forgot what the Silmarillion was about, it wasn’t centered on these characters at all.
And for all they skipped, they didn’t skip to the interesting parts either.
Im pretty sure the showrunners did not say this show is based on the silmarillion. Its something like, based on the appendices of lord of the rings
Loved it! 
Can’t wait to watch the first two episodes a second time through to absorb more. I have many specific thoughts, but I’ll just leave it at that for now haha.
Visually it was nice but the story and pacing was all over the place. I can’t be too harsh because they are basically creating new LotR stories out of thin air but I hope it comes together more in the last 6 episodes. The one scene I particularly disliked was at the end of the second episode where the woman and child are fighting the orc. It felt like something out of a bad horror movie.
Also I thought the show was going to be about Isildur and it turns out we got more of Elrond and Galadriel immediately. I get that they had roles in the second age but I hoped for the main characters to be people we haven’t seen portrayed on film yet, at least at the start.
Nope. I wont be watching.

I thought it was alright, not going to complain about something that has only 2 episodes. I mean even the first 15-20 minutes of most movies isn’t always the best as they fill you in on characters and plot.
I haven’t seen the LOTR show but probably will. I cannot even bring myself to watch the trailer for the new GOT show given how much I disliked the books (though I wish there was a way on HBO Max to hide it since they really really really want me to watch it - to the point it feels like one of those annoying spy cam pop ads from years ago).
I’m currently watching a series of lectures on the history of forensic science.
Last I checked they manipulated the disliked reviews for it.
At least that’s what the youtube influencers claim.
From what I can see from the outside it looks like they’ve designed the show to just be spiteful and to spit on Tolkens legacy.
I think they even cut Jackson out of the creative process so they could just do whatever they want.
It had negative rating, before the show came out.
Cool.
I’ll just wait to hear about it being canned.

There was a restaurant near me a few years ago that even though it was weeks before opening had rave reviews on Yelp (from Yelps own paid team of reviewers I’m sure lol).
Watched the first episode yesterday. Hoping it will get better as it goes. Honestly didn’t think it was starting until mid-Sept. Been a fan of Tolkien, and The Hobbit, LOTR, etc, since I was a kid back in the 70’s. The original Battle For Middle Earth rts game was imo one of the best rts games made for the pc.
Did you ever play Lord of the Rings Conquest? That game was awesome.
