Did they put too much Stamina on max level PvP gear?

Nothing dies. Casters hit 9K with abilities. Sometimes even 30K if opponent does not have any gear. Against 400-500K HP…

Casters just don’t have much burst right now in general. The only casters that pose a threat that I have seen is shadow and warlocks, and it’s not really burst it’s just that they are incredibly tanky and can ramp damage.

My full moon which is a 2.5 second cast crits for 80k if I pop CA and have both dots on the target. Usually it’s a regular hit for 30k in a normal eclipse but there are so many ways to counter it I maybe get one off a handful of times in a Bg.

I don’t see things getting any better for us and Season starts in next week. We do zero sustained and burst gets overhealed and migitated in 2 seconds. Conquest gear won’t make big difference either.

I think the health is fine. The problem is most specs seem to be built around having very weak sustained damage and absurdly high burst damage. I think PVP would feel much better if a lot of the burst was dialed back in favor of higher sustained. We still need to be able to kill players, it just sucks when there’s such a small window for response.

under that model PVP just comes down to who has the highest DPS or if they are even, who attacked first.

burst models allow for mastery of play to be learned as you have to play around your burst model to kill and avoid theirs to stay alive. its only unintuitive if you are playing PVP like PVE, which you shouldn’t.

No it doesn’t. You would still have burst, it just wouldn’t be people running around deleting eachother in 3 seconds. THAT is the model that comes down to who attacked first.

given that not everyone is getting deleted in 3 seconds, mastery of play must be a factor.

We will have over 1 mil Hp in this expansion.

PvP gear doesn’t have too much stamina that is just how gear scales. There are a few items higher level than PvP gear and that has more stamina. With that said abilities should also scale as we get more primary stats, main stat, gems, procs etc.

The secondary DR should be removed though and we need to get rid of Versa on PvP gear to allow for higher damage S tier builds. At least when Tier comes out we can drop some of the worthless Versa for better stats.

Stamina is fine, healing is out of control.

That is the reason they increased HP by 40% at max level is because Healing is too strong.

And then they forgot to nerf percentage based healing abilities… Ala’kazam broken healing.

Im fine with removal of Versatility and have high Stamina baseline in PvP instead. But this means our secondaries have to scale way better than they do now. For example Ignite is a joke. It has been joke since Cata ended.

Right now from Mage perspective there is zero reason to play PvP because we don’t do any damage. Its same issue we had in Legion: amazing spec feel but your damage tickles.

Every secondary scales better than Versa with the new talent trees. The problem is Versa isn’t a real secondary, you don’t make any build with it and only functions as an amp. What you want perhaps is some talent changes.

They didn’t. They said if they needed tuning they would address that. However these heals are needed to keep up with the non % based. Now it’s actually balanced.

Then Versa needs to go and let us choose Crit + Haste, Crit + Mastery, Haste + Mastery or mix depending on Spec and how they scale individually.

Btw all gear has Stamina and Armor. Armor decreases physical damage. Where is the Resistance for magic damage migitation? Would make sense Casters having higher magic resistance, since they deal with arcane arts.

This should already be an option and there was no reason for them to remove this PvP gear in SL when they introduced the Vendors. More than half the PvP gear was removed after BFA.

Realistically we need a dedicated PvP stat again. Versa is NOT a PvP stat and is part of spell modifiers so it effects everyone differently. There are too many spell modifiers now so Versa causes imbalance. We need a PvP stat that is separate from spell modifiers so it can be used in tuning.

PvP will never be balanced as long as Versa exist and we have no PvP stat. Furthermore PvP won’t be fun if we can’t get the stats we need to make S tier builds in PvP because Versa is in the way.

If immortal healers and self-healing classes is what they were going for then yes, it’s balanced.

It really isn’t. It’s a bad stat for the game especially in the new design. That’s why it has the lowest value. You can’t make builds with Versa. You make builds with Crit/Mastery/Haste. If you can’t get enough Crit/Mastery/Haste you can’t choose good talents or S tier builds.

Versa was a lazy Band aid that doesn’t work and makes it impossible to balance PvP. It needs to be removed from a design standpoint because of Talent trees and a dedicated PvP stat added.

The current PvP gear is just very outdated for the new game and we need to drop about 2-3k Versa for better performance. At least when Tier comes out we can get non Versa pieces. However if we want great PvP again. Versa needs to go away and a PvP stat added.

Yea it has value for sure and the new Stam gems really will bolter this. Making sockets extremely important to put in the +102 stam +33 secondary stat gems.

Elemental, arcane, frost, affi, demo, destro, evoker can all burst extremely hard.
