I’m getting a warning from blizz that my video card is out of date and of course it is because a bunch of Nvidia users had to roll back to a previous version because of horrible texture flickering.
Just wondering if they ever fixed that problem and if I can update safely or if I will have to roll back to the old one again?
nVidia claimed they fixed it, and after finally updating the driver after eight months I have not yet noticed that godawful skimmering, so it seems like the problem has been fixed. With no one accepting blame, of course.
For me it was certain pieces of armor, as well as environment, and it was quite seizure-inducingly bad. The fix was to roll back to a previous version 8 months ago, but let’s see if the latest update fixes it.
Hey Luup, I can confirm that the most recent Nvidia driver did in fact fix the flicker. It was in the driver’s notes, actually. I finally updated mine (I had been using the last stable driver from back in December) and I have yet to encounter any issues.
Oh so I have a Nvidia graphics card as well. How do I go about updating it? I don’t have the GeForce Experience thing that auto-updates. Should I download the latest driver from the Nvidia site, then uninstall my current video card drivers and then install the latest version? That’s what I used to do to make sure that it was a like a “fresh” installation or whatever but I am not sure if that is how the rest of you guys do it.
ANNNNDDDDDDD… with 9.1 it’s back, just not as bad. So I’m sure nVidia snuck in there during the patch and screwed things up again, because Blizzard couldn’t be to blame.
